!!!!!! Finally, something that makes way more sense to me than Tune-Based Etudes!!!! After watching this, so many separate Bebop concepts are connecting in my brain! Thank You Nathan!!!!

You guys are the real professors of jazz, not the ones we know from all universities! You simply make any would be musician to be a great jazz musician with ease. I have been studying by myself, youtube, and other musicians but I never experienced the magic of how you teach jazz. Well done and congratulations! I have bought a couple of your pdfs.

Jazz is not thought this way in any jazz graduates or post graduate studies in all universities that i know of. This is just Incredible!!!

Great lesson, I wish it were notated in concert pitch.

The Honeysuckle Rose lick is the same as the Cry me a River lick if you switch some notes around and shift the octaves, and also flat one note like you do in the altered version.

Just bought the download after playing along to this video and transposing by ear with my tenor. I don’t fully understand everything you’re explaining, but you make it seem relatively easy. I have a lot of catching up to do 🎷

Totally enjoyed this. Very useful. At the stage now where chord tech doesn't completely scare me. Have a great day.

Great video. You should add context for feel. It’s cool to notate a lick starts on the 9 hits the m3 and lands on the 13 but a great jazz musician isn’t thinking that while playing. The know what all the intervals feel like and what the result will be before playing the licks. Gotta explain the intent of the music along with the notation for the full impact.
