Great tips. These are things I started doing a little over three years ago. They've made a great difference in how I shop. These same tips, with a few tweaks also work for other areas of your life. Like home decor or picking a neighborhood if you are moving, etc.

Hi Lauren, I've just discovered your videos and - holy cow - they're changing my life! Quick fashion question for you: are elastic-waist pants/skirts ever ok? I've been eyeing a pair of wide-leg pants made from a lightweight, drapey material that gather in at the waist with elastic. Can younger folk pull this off, or is this a look reserved for octogenarians? Thanks!

Do it - dont show the waistband ;) !I love those long flowy pants and they are comfy as hell but always have something a bit more structured on top or a jumper or whatever which is a bit or a lot longer or stick a nice broad belt on top - because the grandma wibe is coming from showing an elasticated waist on Anything ! ( exeption ruched dresses where the whole top is elasticated in a pattern )

Funny story first day of 1 st grade I-tried to wear my bikini bathing suit with my fanciest purple party dress(wish I had pictures)..I haven't changed much since then.
