How much does the jaltest software cost buying it through you folks? I ordered the OTR diagnostic tool on your recommendation and it is now waiting for me at home so hopefully no getting drug around in my future. I’m putting a lot of faith in you folks to be the kind of mechanics that will help a driver fix problems rather than be the biggest problem…

Absolutely Correct!!! Def on a shelf for extended time does go bad. @ the pump of a busy truck stop you get a better quality. Does you JalTest work on a 2001 Pete 379 with a Cat C15???

Common issue with NOx conversion with dd15 is bulld up of DEF in the scr . FREIGHTLINER has an awning that can be installed to aide in preventing this build up. If you remove doser and see build up it is most likely the cause. Some cases you can clean off doser with warm water and perform forced regen.

When you can could you let us know what year the truck is? Also, what does the range for repairs? Was this several thousand dollars? With what you said it seems like a lot of things to look at but you said the software helps guide you to the main issue(s). Thanks in advance

Let us know what the problem is, I have a 2018 Freightliner cascade and my ELD keeps throwing same codes, and then engine light comes on with no fault codes on my truck dash, run it and after so many miles codes go away and come back with same codes. After. A week or so. Plus engine light goes out on dash after it clears from the ELD.

Definitely saying DEF sitting on a shelf somewhere is bad is lie. The 90% of a problem when it comes to you in terms of a DEF is the one at the pumps. Reason he likes it is because it fills up his pockets to clear the code and clean the filters.😂

This is not a def problem nor a nox eff problem . Shops throw parts at this and send it on down the road .i and many other freightliner have this problem . Its a software issue imo. If you reseacrh it you will see lots of hits on it beening a problem . All mechanics say they did this or that and it comes back later. Maybe not to the same mechanic, but it comes back . How i attact this problem is i got software and run a scr efficiency test on it until the nh3 valve is above .93, but this only lasts 1000 plus miles . Sometime 5000 sometimes 1000. It's the computer saying too much def is needed to convert at an acceptable level . If you dont admit this, you're just another mechanic gonna throw money at this and send the driver on his way to break down in 5000 miles.

It’s not always a software issue. I had many trucks in my shop where there MCM and ACM where up to date and the problem was def build up, bad def quality and def injector not spraying enough def

@PrabhjotSandhu-tm9yu yea yea . Forums of 1000s of posr from mechanics all admiting to this being a detroit problem . Mechanics admit that doing everything even onebox replacement dont fix this.

I said that from forums and research that mechanics have stated that they have done everything to fix this even replacing 1box but the issue still comes back . I believe its a software issues that detroit refuses to fix or cant because of epa regs.

Their rationale for doing that is so that you don't destroy the SCR box.
