How to - Dirt Bike Water Pump Upgrade Install

Install of the Boano Water Pump Upgrade Impeller on 2019 Beta 390 RRS. I can tell you that so far temps have remained lower than they did prior to the install. I am happy with the product so far.

Note, in the future if you do this again, if you do not open the top of the rad up first, you can control the speed of the coolant coming out and much easier direct it into the bucket with a funnel below the drain bolt.

Lang's Offroad thanks for watching and the feedback. This product was purchased from you guys actually. My bike had been building pressure so I wasn’t sure about dropping the drain plug if there was still pressure built up. New coolant and after the upgrade the pressure issue seems to have went away. Great seeing you guys at the Rally.

Did you have to change the bolts for longer ones? I have the same upgrade for a KTM 530 2011 but not sure about the bolt beeing long enough. Thx for the info!

Gastor Massimo yes the kit came with longer bolts. The red spacer is just enough that the stock bolts would not engage enough threads.

A big difference. Some rides were killing my battery from how much the fan was coming on. After this upgrade and engine ice no issues. I think this is a critical upgrade for a 4T that sees a lot of single track.

How much do you think the Boano kit helped? did it make your bike run noticeably cooler?

I think it’s great. The prop is much higher quality and it moves the coolant much more efficiently.
