Fun video, thanks! I also love stopping at various libraries for a break and the free WIFI. You can save your phone battery (and even charge your phone there in most cases) and use the computers on a large screen. Also, hand sanitizer is great for cleaning your underarms and feet in a pinch when you can't shower.

I love doing road trips! We are also geocachers so being in the car and being able to stop along the way to find caches is the best! Usually every couple of years we are able to take a vacation. 2 summers ago we left NY and went to spend a few days touring TN for the first time spending most of it in Nashville. Then we left for GA for a night and then off to the final destination of Myrtle Beach for another couple of days before taking a couple of days to get back home. All in all it was almost 3,000 miles we put on the rental car!!

You guys are so funny love the tips and yes we always research and budget. We always bring snacks with us and drinks we travel with 2 little ones. They are very picky so we bring bread, peanut butter, and cereal boxes which cuts down on cost when they are hungry at night or want a snack. We have to do the hotel for the night, I personally wouldn't do it I get scared something may happened but that's just me. Looking forward to some more videos.

You should always check all your fluid levels, tire pressure and wiper blades before a road trip. I had a wiper blade rip while on a road trip. Of course it was pouring and I was in the middle of nowhere in West Virginia.I had to pull off the road until it stopped. I also always chart my route and look for deals and coupons to save money on my .travels.

While in community college, I usually had a few hours between classes, and since I had to commute to school, I would spend quite a lot of time in a corner booth at the local McDonalds since it had an outlet underneath the table and I was out of the way of other people. I did most of my homework there, met and became semi-familiar with the employees, and if I was there when the breakfast menu closed and the regular menu opened up, I would sometimes be offered free hash browns that would otherwise be thrown out. They really don't mind you hanging around as long as you are polite and respectful of other people's space and experience. Watching this in prep for my road trip next week to try to cut some costs if possible. Awesome content, thanks for sharing your tips!

Look up gas prices in cities you want to travel to and make sure to fill up at the cheapest one. Buy meat, bread, cheese, chips, snacks, drinks, and whatever else you can fit into a small cooler so you save money on food. Check your tires before leaving, pack comfy clothes, bring a charger for your phone, look up places that have free wifi if needed.

My BFF and I love taking road trips. There are things you just learn about people while on the road that you never would otherwise. Our last trip was to Palm Springs and we had a blast- even though it was in the 120s (degrees)! Going during the hottest time of year allowed us to stay at am awesome resort with a cold pool for around $35 each per night. Total score! Oh, and we always buy food at a store when we arrive so we don’t pay the high restaurant prices. Thanks for your awesome tips! Ps- always put a couple of towels in the trunk. You never know. :)

Truckers know how to travel cheap too, there's a lot of good tips out there. I wanted to retreat to the mountains for a few days or a week to recharge my batteries, but this pandemic happened. Really just need gas money, food money (coolers and food that doesn't require refrigeration and minimal cooking is cheaper than fast food) and a clean bathroom. My dad and I found plenty of free camp sites and parks that had grills so we could heat up some water to cook and grill a meal, just picnic right out of the car. It was a plus if it had a clean river or stream to cool off!

@jessicah34504 жыл бұрын
Yes, hiding your stuff is so important, safety first! Thieves are mainly opportunists and know tourists are easy targets. Love your idea of hiding things in plain sight like food containers. Hospitals, doctor's offices, hotels, libraries, malls, etc usually have free wifi that you can reach from the parking lot too, and they're used to people coming and going so they'll never bother you.

Thanks for the video. I've stayed in my vehicle at many rest areas or just some obscure place off the road over the years but it wasn't always an option if I was traveling with others, especially kids. If you do your research beforehand, you can find reasonable motel accommodations or search Air B nB. Loyalty cards help get better rates and I know from managing a small motel that room rates are negotiable especially if they don't have many guests. Mom & Pop motels would rather go down on the rate then not have a head in the bed at all.
