How to disable the keyless entry on a Toyota GR Yaris.

Thank you very, very very much for the video & the explanation! I just did the exact same thing today to my GR Yaris and feel MUCH safer now. Its just crazy that car companys basically build-in an feature that makes it easy for (two) thiefs to steal the cars as soon as they pick up the car-key signal when walking along your house/flat walls. Its as if they WANT the cars to get stolen at some point. With this feature enabled, you can basically just leave your car unlocked & unattended everywhere where the thiefs can guess the location of your car-keys.

Excellent video and very helpful. I will disable the keyless entry on my Yaris Cross not because it's likely to be a target for theft but I only do 200 miles/month and this will reduce the likelihood of the 12 volt battery going flat. Best wishes Chas😊

Yeah but now you got a keyfob flying around the car, old style was perfect since the start button was also the perfect spot to store the key

Thank you, at the time of this video being done it only had the Miltek non resonance system. On cold start it has a distinctive deep burble which will last approximately 25 seconds then the lower idle resumes and its a very nice subtle burble.

Can't thieves still copy the key fob signal since you're still using the fob to unlock the vehicle? I guess they only have that 1 or 2 seconds when the button is pressed to try and copy the signal instead of the car and fob constantly relaying signals during keyless entry and unattended.

The key has 2 frequencies, this stops the keyless frequency.

@@detailcarcare2729 Thanks for the clarification. I have a Corolla Cross and there's no option to turn off keyless entry in settings. I've just been turning the fob off by holding the lock button and pressing twice on unlock whenever I park outside. Anyways thanks again.
