Thank you. Worked perfectly fine on my ‘04 4Runner. I had purchased new monitors to go with my new BFGs and rims. I have always despised tpms on a vehicle you air down/up while off-roading. Simple easy and temporary. You can always just pull out the jump wire and plug it back in. I will be sending my $200 sensors back to Discount Tire Direct.

Thank you womackke for posting this up. Pretty stunning you could manage this one handed. Couple of comments to help others along the way-should work for all 4th gen 4Runners-2003 through 2009 US model years. 2WD or 4WD should not matter. Should fix both TPMS modes of a flashing light and a steady on light. The thin wire issue-I used a twist tie (some refer to as bread wrappers) of solid wire stripped at both ends for the right thickness and easy insertability. This is much easier than trying to use 20 or 22 gauge wire made up of several strands twisted at each end. Also-as another person had commented-the wire inserts into the smallest round hole for each position 3 top and bottom. Get a good amount of wire slotted into each hole. Test the 'fix' by putting the key back in the ignition and the TPMS light will no longer light up even in ACC or start modes of the key. Then restore the compartment as it belongs and tighten up the Phillips head screw. My reference vehicle is a 06 V8 full time all wheel drive SR5 4Runner. Within that same compartment under the glovebox is the electronic 4 wheel drive computer. This makes the wire loom more bulky and a little more tightly attached to the compartment's interior. Thanks again womakke-it's people like you that help all of us out from having to reinvent the wheel so to speak....It's amazing the power of shared knowledge so easily accessible now with KZbin and the Internet!

2006 4Runner with this flashing light for last 18 months. I used a small piece of wire inserted into the front of the white connector to shout out the white/black and pink/black wires. My white connector had two sets of holes for each wire. Use the holes that the TPMS pins plug into to insert your jumper. Thanks, no longer an annoying flashing light.

I had the tires on my '08 4Runner 4WD rotated by Discount Tire recently, and a day later the tpms light began blinking for a minute or so upon start-up, then remained on. This was different than the solid light only indicating a low tire; the manual says this indicates a problem with the system. Each time I started the vehicle, it would blink for a minute, then remain on. I checked my tires and found them inflated to 38 psi, rather than the 32 psi they were before Discount got their hands on it. I deflated them to the correct pressure (32 psi), started the vehicle, the light blinked for about 3 seconds and then went out. Those folks presumably are experts where tires are concerned, the inflation information is plastered all over the door, and of course it's available on all their computers. What is so freaking hard about making sure the tires are inflated to the correct pressure? Anyway, maybe this will help someone.
@robertmcgovern88502 жыл бұрын
I can't understand that either, unless they over-inflate them to seat the bead & never bother to relieve the pressure. Every time I get tires back from a store (Peerless, etc), either new tires or puncture repair, they are jacked to 45psi or something. 😲 I thought "I must have a defective gauge," but no -- cross checked four gauges against each other and against a professional dial gauge -- all w/in 1PSI of each other.

So I tried it and it worked but is it safe to leave it unplugged from the brown box and what’s the purpose of the brown box?
