Will that new gen key need anything else for car to run? Do I need old key in vehicle still? Or is this just all I need and key cut ?

Had to dissemble key for locksmith to cut. Have to program key and fob seperate.

This paint is amazing. I’ve used it to paint the inside of my boat and once it’s cured like he showed you, you can’t hurt it. It’s like a gel coat shell you can’t scratch through. Cool, simple fix! So the brown/orange box under the glove box is just the TPMS monitor? I doesn't do anything else? I'm asking since you didn't plug the connector back in and just want to be very sure that won't disable anything else.

I am following exactly what you did but the red light didn't turn and still blinking. Any idea why it keeps blinking after removing the original key on the 5th? I have grey key not black. Thanks

problem with that new style fob, depending on how many keys you have had done you have to take it to the dealer to get a reprogram including the original key so its not a plug and play

How did you get the key cut?

It's easier to desolder the old one from the rx and solder on a new one. But this does work if you want to avoid doing it as they can be located very close to other rather small components on the rx circuit board.
