Great video. If any of the 'O' rings are damaged, do you know where I can buy replacements.

Thank you so much for this detailed video. I can hear crackling noise on low speed, it is very definitive noise that feels like coming from the inside of the car. But Tesla diagnosed it and ruled out that air struts need to be replaced. If that happens, do you know what could it be? Is it fixable at all? Because can think of anything in air struts that could make such noise.

If anything wrong inside the shock absorber itself (consisting of a piston, metal spring, sealing rings, oil and gas), the air suspension may give a ticking/knucking sound at low speed. But it mostly only heard if driving on an uneven road with some gravels etc. These problems are not fixable (its a totally closed system). Also difficult to diagnose. Most likely, its some of your bushings, upper control arms, stabilizer bars etc. that have failed. At first, if not done already, you have to check these out, so to be sure the sound is not coming from any of those parts.

@@christianvenneslan9361 thank you for your reply, I replaced air struts a day ago and confirmed that indeed one of them was making that sound. To reproduce it, I could simply wiggle up and down the top part of it with 3 bolts, and it would make that dull, metal sound. I felt like there was a small 1mm play somewhere.

Great video! If there is a squeaky noise coming from inside the strut when compressing/decompressing the suspension, is there any way to grease it up without completely disassemblying the strut like you did in your video?

Thanks :) First, you must be sure that the squeaky noise comes from inside the strut, and not from any bushings, upper control arms, stabilizer bars etc. In most instances, these sounds are created by other parts of the suspension, than the air struts. But in some cases, and more often as the air struts ages, also they can give a squeaky sound. If so, the most likely source is the shock absorber itself (a piston with metal spring inside the cylinder there). Wear and tear run these out. So not much to do in that case (the bellows is the other weak point). Assumes nothing very unlikely has happened, as a broken plastic cover or a fractured rubber absorber at the top etc. But hard to see that this should make such sounds. You probabaly have to open it up, and take a look, if you wanne check everything off.
