I'll have to get the caps. because the steramine solution goes right out the way I do it. I also rinse mine with clean water afterwards to rinse out the steramine flavoring. Not sure if that is good or bad. Love your hooks to hang the pieces on. I can't do that in my apartment. I use the bath tub walls and shower curtain rod. Nice to see a different method.

Hey, Steve, great video. I looking for any solution to dry a head and lungs, any blower or ventilator. Do you have any idea? Thanks

Hey, Steve, great video. I need to clean my choptima when I get back from mexico tomorrow. When you say you leave the Solution in the counter lungs for quite a few minutes, is that like 15 minutes or an hour?

From what I’m reading, they can technically disinfect within a minute, but leave soak for 5 to 10 minutes

I've found that my Chopima stays nice and uninfected by just rinsing all the components (except the head of course) with regular tap water and then drying the CLs with an air mattress inflator and hanging the rest to dry. This causes the whole unit to be bone dry within hours, which seems to inhibit any kind of bacterial growth before it can even start. That said, I do like to run through the actual disinfection procedure once or twice a year, typically November and March, when I won't be using it for a couple months afterward. I like your methodology, so I'll try following this the next time I actually disinfect with steramine.

Interesting… To each their own. I’m not very keen on using only water. Have you checked for bacterial growth using testing strips? Just curious. I’ve heard of horror stories of people getting lung infections…

Also, I have found it unnecessary to pull the controller and HUD cables completely out of the unit every time I disassemble. I just leave the HUD stowed just outside the top hole it comes out of, and run the straps of my Petrel through a couple of the webbing loops on the back of the CL cover, then rinse, blow dry and hang the CLs. One less task for next reassembly, and in my opinion less wear and tear on the computer, cables, CLs and CL cover.

@@MDWtubeChannel of course it is not necessary. I am a fan of rebuilding every time, I do this just to make sure everything is just so. Part of my process. I think it’s great and everyone has their process. Safe Diving! Thanks for the comments!

And lastly, we hope, is I disagree about keeping the scrubber flat when removed from the CLs. Certainly, it is a bad idea to set it on end head down, for obvious reasons. But I have had good experiences with setting it on end with the water trap down. It seems to me this allows gravity to take the residual moisture in the EAC and the head down to the water trap where it can be dealt with appropriately along with the rest of the juice already there. In fact, I even sometimes do that and then tip it a little toward the opening to dump water even before removing the water trap from the canister.
