2:00 Yes!! 😂 I’ve been screwing around with this showerhead for a couple minutes, trying to figure it out, so I watched your video and as soon as your finger pointed to the middle and said “hidden screw” I looked down at the showerhead and saw the cap in the middle said sunnavabitch and laughed 😂 Thanks bro you’re the man

Thanks for your post! It didn't resemble my Delta shower head, but gave me enough to go on. Mine turns between two different stream selections. I found that if I kept turning to the left after hitting the left stream limit, it unscrewed all the way! I wouldn't have tried this without your post, so thank you! After opening I found a rubber O ring that seals against the pivot ball had broken in half and was blocking the water flow. Thanks!

Me too...but I figured out how to get it apart as I watched this. There's a retainer ring holding the face plate to the pattern selector. There's a small gap in the ring that can be exploited with a pick to pop that faceplate off...voila

I have a shower head that was working fine, but it was hard to rotate the selector to select the different spray modes. I tried spraying silicone lubricant spray into the gap between the head and the part that turns around to select the spray modes (pried it open a bit with a screwdriver), but that didn't seem to help. However then I tried squirting some plumbers grease in that slot, again prying it open a bit with a screwdriver to get grease in at a few points around the shower head -- and that seemed to do the trick. No more squeaking, no more difficulty turning. Seems good as new.

My showerhead was simple. It’s got a plug in the center you pop it out. There’s a Phillips head screw remove it take the whole thing apart clean reassemble.

Mine has 3 little indents, and I think that's for the turning of that center piece. Mine is a peerless. However I'm also confident there's so much of water mineral deposits that it's easier to just buy a new one. I may attempt to 3D print a triangle with those points as a key to see if it works though.
@WJHandyDad Жыл бұрын
good luck with it. To remove mineral deposits you can soak in vinegar or citric acid or similar

I appreciate you sacrificing your showerhead. Mine works on most settings but when I twist it to the massage setting, it consistently stops after a couple of seconds. I tried soaking it overnight in vinegar but no luck. Like you, I couldn't figure out how to open it. It was driving me nuts not being able to figure out how to open it. I'm guessing the mineral build up that's causing the problem is also locked my threads together.

Good video. Makes me yearn for the days when we made such items in America that were serviceable. The throw away design (while i know why they do it), it is a waste of materials, labor, and one's dream of having a quality made product in which he/she could service. Oof.

I’ve also seen some cases where you have to mash two particular locations on the cosmetic outer plastic to release a snap-in-place clamp. Then you’re able to see inner stuff where it’s more obvious to continue. I could not tell if this shower head made use of that method.
@WJHandyDad6 ай бұрын
I appreciate the feedback... yeah, these showerheads all need maintenance and yet they make so many of them cryptic as to how to disassemble to that maintenance can be done. They clearly want us to throw away and buy a new one

I'm curious, after getting it open and seeing that it does turn, if you were going back in time, how would you try to get it open without damaging it since you did try to unscrew it in the beginning the first time and that didn't seem to work?

Good to know: they usually can't be disassembled. I've sent a message to Oxygenics to ASK them how to disassemble mine, so i can clean it out. I'm expecting they will not help me. It sucks that even if you buy a good quality showerhead, it will eventually get clogged up, and cannot be serviced or repaired.
