1.16 has just came out and part of this new wonderful update is Distilling! That's right! Making spirits, aka "Hooch." Join me as we go through the step by step process of making this lovely liquid ambrosia and check out what effects it has on your avatar!

An excellent tutorial video as always. I do love your editing, you put so much effort and detail in. I've only really been drunk a few times, but I think I'm a happy drunk. I know I brought a house plant in a pot and everything home from the company Christmas party once.

I feel like we almost need to see the effect of inebriation in first person POV. The booze amuses me, though I'm not a drinker much IRL, I honestly couldn't answer your question - I haven't been drunk enough times to say.

@@PapaCheddar honestly, I kind of want to get you and a real life survivalist I know playing together. He doesn't have the game yet, but I think it would make for good entertainment - he also has plenty of dad grade puns. There's a six hour time difference between him and me, as I live in the UK, and I have no idea how many hours would be between you.

@@PapaCheddar if he's interested, we could pitch it a couple of ways. One is we provide live support to him in his first time playing the game, in which case we'd likely get his candid first impressions. Or we could have him play it for a bit and then have him give his after thoughts as he does a multiplayer server. Gameplay also changes a bit when you have a group of people working together to complete tasks, which makes the class system of the game more relevant.

Multiplayer servers can definitely be a ton of fun. There are a few really good ones for VS. I've played on Aura Fury (my favorite SMP of course 😉) Though probably a good idea imo to try it in a single player world first. SMP can drain your food quickly and bring on quick winters, killer if you're not attuned to the game for sure

You! No wheeze juice!!! I had no clue that pausing your world would pause even smoke... That's pretty cool. I'm most certainly getting trashed during a temporal storm. However, I will be encasing myself in glass to do it... Rock throwing drifters? Seriously? Like they're not hard enough? ROFL I do love the simplicity of building an actual campfire under the distillery. However, I think I'd have some sort of cup/glass, rather than booze from a bowl. Use the bucket or an ore... container... smelting... thingie... it's been one of those mornings...

Me Words hard 😂 This was actually the first time I messed with world speed lol. Had it set to 1 so it was moving reeeeeaaaaal slow. Next update, drifters thrown rocks break glass 😜 haha. Good luck...... I'd like a stein or maybe we can use ram horns?! A jewel encrusted goblet perhaps lol. Hopefully more to come in this department.

Quick ask: the final result is good for food? Since it makes no sense to distill if it has a lower food value (Fruit juice is pretty good if you have much fruitos, 26 days to stale vs 7 days is a big diference

I wouldn't recommend booze as a food source lol. I believe its much less and on top of that you get the swinging screen effects.

I own a private server i run for my friends we have a mod that adds salads and expands the meal and cooking mechanics and you had a fruit press and were able to make wine I wonder if they will incorporate the new distillery mechanics or expand on them. The mod also had bottles which you could store sauces to put on meals like soy sauce or hold juice/alcohol in

I'd put money on yes. The modders for VS are usually really on top of everything and keeping up to date with updates. I've always wanted to try the mod you're talking about 🤪 maybe if they do add to it i may have to!

@@PapaCheddar its a good mod when paired with fishing and i know they expand on what you can put in pies so you can have mixed pies which are better imho. Also like making multigrain muffins with berries topped with maple syrup. Cooking is fun in game and I'm hoping that distilling will be the next step to fermenting and preservatives so i can make brine, vinegar etc to preserve veggies and meats like in Terrafirma

@@thehelixgroup i like the sounds of that lol. So fishing like primitive survival? Atleast that's the only mod I've seen with fishing. Haven't checked in a wee bit though aha. Making cooking super in depth here 😃 it's one thing i tend to skimp on honestly. Just so easy to grill a steak lol. My laziness makes me miss out on the goodness of most delicious foods 😅

All we need now is some craftable bottles now to put the alcomahol in and a printing press for the labels. Employ traders as bar tenders. Maybe some dancing traders, for a show, at your newly established Bar. The Drifters can be playing some music, So they will need to add a piano to the game as well. I feel I'm over thinking this

​@@PapaCheddar Shame that vodka in game can be produced only from cassava or breadfruit, doesn't have them around, but, we with friends have some nice booze stock anyway, it's really helpful at temp storms for counteracting it...stormy effect :D
