Chalk paint would work for this, too. There would be many color options. My daughter painted a white wedding dress with blue chalk paint to make her daughter a cinderella dress costume. It was very soft and looked like it was originally blue instead of white. I have a plan to paint a wide stripe, then a narrower strip horizontally on the bottom of some. I bought several drop cloths very cheap. Hint for everyone..make sure before purchase that you verify the color and the smell. Dropcloths vary greatly even in the same size in the same store. Many are grayish, some are brownish, and some have a really bad smell that is hard to remove.

Good point about chalk paint as a dye. Just make sure to read up on the details about using it that way~

I've been thinking of doing this for some time and I'll finally have time this winter when I'm snowed in! This was very helpful - have you found that the stamping faded in the sunlight? Thank you for your video!

Good question. The backs of the curtains get the sun, but there's been no fading yet. Maybe if the ink was facing the sun it would slowly fade.
