Sewing chic sweatpants has been on my to-sew list forever and many of you requested this also! Inspired by my DIY Palazzo pants 'sewing recipe' I made this easy to sew joggers. It has a little more detail and I'm loving the finishing touches. These DIY sweatpants can be your go to look at home or you can rock them in a sporty chic fashion or on trend with some fab heels. It offers many styling options so it really depends on your mood ;-)
What you'll need:
- a yards/meter of stretch fabric (mine is from www.siebrenmode...)
- thread
- fabric scissors
- pins
- sewing machine (I use Brother DS140 rstyle.me/~2ieBk)

Such a good idea to bend the edges to fit the bottoms of the legs !! I was doing the jumpsuit (from your other tutorial) and in this part I tried different methods that were slower and more difficult than this one ! (I sewed a thin elastic in the edges to get them smaller and begin able to sew the extra pieces) But I will try this method that seems easier and quicker :D

you can do both methods. It depends what you prefer. Good luck!

If you sew the elastic in, it makes a huge job when the elastic goes, and you have to unpick alot of work. Just make a casing and thread the elastic through, leaving a small gap where you can always access the elastic.

Thanks! ooph swimsuits are difficult especially for me who has bigger breasts. That's because I can't wear the fabric ones I need to the extra support in order for it to look good if you know what I mean. Will think about this one and keep you posted ;-)

Arthur ParkerUsually they sell the fabric folded once. If you open it up completely then fold it once :-) no need to fold it twice otherwise you get a different shape

hey vondella! I always use stretch fabric. Like one smart woman once told me it's more forgiving :D I rarely sew with other types of fabric because they require patterns

Hey! what technique do you use for stretch fabric? I mean, machine, needle, etc. I don't have and overlocker and I don't seem to find the right way to work with this kind of material. Thank u!! ^^

I just use a regular stitch and zig zag if it's a fitted shape. I use a needle that is meant for stretch fabric or a universal needle. Maybe it depends on the machine you're using?

Now I've discovered a new way, and wanna give it a go: double needle. They're supposed to give an effect similar to overlock, but I'm still doing experiments with it. Will tell ya if it works! :)
