I just finished this skirt and I love it! I didn't do the high-low version, just a regular hem all the way around. Your instructions were so clear and easy to follow that I finished the skirt in a day. It turned out just like I envisioned when I decided to make a circle skirt with African print fabric. I'll send a pic when I wear it. Thank you so much for reading my mind.

Very helpful two-part tutorial! It's great appreciate that you tell viewers when you've had problems in the past (like when you say that you've made mistakes with zippers) and then explain why you're approaching it with such care. I liked, too, that you were encouraging and said that people should take their time with the hem. It's easy to watch a sewing (or other DIY) tutorial and feel like your project at home isn't coming together as quickly as the one online. This was great! :)

You're welcome! You're right it is so easy to get lost in all the steps, I try to keep in mind that no step is too small to demonstrate, every step is key to a beautiful garment. I'm glad you learned something new. I have an obsession with pockets, I have to put them in everything I make.

I love this! The prints are beautiful, your pictures are vibrant and most importantly, the instructions are very clear! I also love the fact that you videoed this in real time, and also providing us the specific type of fabric you used in the description box (it's always a bummer when I have no idea what fabrics people used :( ) I hope this is not too much to ask, but I'd love to see a video of you wearing the garments you sewed at the start/end of the video, just to see how the fabric moves. Hope to see that in upcoming tutorials! x

Nice, you can get a tape measure exclusively for measuring your circle skirt and punch a hole at the 41" mark and the 4 1/2" and then put your pen in the hole and just hold the tape at the top and swing the part with the pen around to achieve your marking 😀😀

I loved your videos! I watched both all the way through, very detailed and informative. Where can we find the pocket pattern, that was the most tricky to follow, with the slits. I'm afraid I'd end up sewing the pockets shut. Thanks again!
@MontoyaMayo6 жыл бұрын
Thank you and You're welcome! You can find the pocket pattern here: montoyamayo.com/free-resources/ . I have a top and bottom mark for the pockets so you know where to stop, and you can also mark the spot with two pins going in opposite directions as a signal to your self to stop. I often do this when sewing zippers.

As an absolute beginner THANK YOU! This is one of the best tutorials I've watched. Do you have to have a zipper foot to sew an invisible zipper?

You're welcome! And thank you for the compliment. Yes, I would use a zipper foot, it doesn't have to be an invisible foot though just a regular standard zipper foot will work fine.
