I would highly recommend drilling a weep right at the level of concrete inside of pole. Water accumulated there on our pole and it rusted from inside out in about 6 or 7 years. Top cap was installed as well, so I'm not sure how much water got in there over time. Digging up base today to replace it

Very helpful, thank you. When you adjust the height, does the handle stop exactly where you release the trigger or does it have set intervals of 7.5ft, 9ft, 10ft? Thanks

Good question! It stops exactly where you release the trigger. No set intervals.

Great video! We just set the bottom pole in concrete and it is day 1 of it curing. I'm worried that the 14.5 inch mark is a half inch or so below the surface. I'm also worried that the two slots at the top of the pole are slightly not parallel with the playing surface. During the Final assembly can these be corrected? You mentioned that before the top part is seated the backboard can still be adjusted to the playing court. Any tips on this? Does the final height have some leeway once the first pole is set? Thanks.

Glad it was helpful. Keep in mind it's been several years now since I installed mine, but if I recall, if your 14.5" was off slightly, probably not a big deal - your max hoop height may be 9' 11.8" or so as opposed to 12", for example. I'd guess the final max height cannot be adjusted if this base pole is further down than what it should be - not fully seating the poles is not a good option. You could contact Lifetime, though, to ask for sure. 02:14 in the video shows the slots should be parallel. Once in concrete, this pole cannot be corrected obviously. You **may** be able to correct slightly if you were indeed off when you go to seat the middle pole and assembly to the bottom pole in ground. Have several helpers present to see if it looks parallel once it's up there and you may be able to adjust by turning the backboard slightly before you fully seat it with hammer? I'd keep it as light as possible - in other words, maybe have two ladders with a helper on each latter whose job it is to position the middle pole on the base pole, but to prevent its full weight from dropping on the base pole until parallel is confirmed by other helpers. I'm referring to 17:01 in video. Also, definitely contact Lifetime - their customer service, I remember, was fast when I had a question. Good luck!
