Yeahhh interesting!! Thanks for this. I always use the reverb option on my DJM 900 NXS2. And the impact on the track coming in. Or mess around with the break of the track coming in if the beat from the track that’s playing allows that. Anyway, what I don’t understand is producers selling tracks without an intro or outro on Beatport. Even worse......extended versions of modern dance tracks that have intros and outros that are going off the grid like crazy!!That’s a question I think I’ll never get the answer to 😂 I don’t care if it’s a remix where the break is a lot slower but I feel like if you make and sell and extended version on a platform for DJ’s the intro and outro should be on the grid. I have NO idea why you would do this as a producer. Don’t you want other DJ’s to play your track? But maybe I just answered my own question. I just don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you Luke for explaining this to DJs. So many DJs today can't step outside of the box of mixing 16-32 in and out. Most DJs have never heard the 2nd drop on most tracks. Creative mixing is key and a great way to set yourself apart from other DJs.

Yeah ten years ago a normal record was 6.45-7.30 mins. Now they label extended mixes as 4 mins... Stupid marketing for streaming services i.e. Spotify, Apple Music. They are saying if the listener isn't into hearing a quick hook within the first 10 seconds they will skip the track and move on to another one. Artist management hears this and there you go the trend of shorter edits.

Geezer use it if you want don't worry about what other people say it gives you more time for other stuff it doesn't make you any less if a dj you can still make a horrible sounding mix using sync. Beat matching is fun but it's become far less important in the digital dj world.
