Great video!! I went to the lake today and was trying the 360. Didn't come close to getting it. I wish I had watched your video BEFORE going out. We had awesome water and several bodies in the boat made for a great wake. I cant wait to go out again and try your paddle method!

After I get a 360 I'm going to try jumping the wake. I've also been working on crossing over. I'm getting close to getting that.
@Reviewoutlaw9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Bassett advise on that is slow the boat down to like 9.8 and remove a lot of the ballast, make a really small wave, then do it a couple of times with the rope, timing is important as well as 90% of the weight on your back leg, back leg should be in the middle of the board and front leg needs to have your foot close to the edge that the wave is near. so pretty much move your heel closer to the edge of the board .

I was watching this video thinking “write that’s a really good video!” I guess I watched it five years ago. I still haven’t gotten my 360. I was out for a while. Now back at it. I’ll get it soon.

One thing I do, is keep a lot of weight on my back foot because a lot of times the nose or side catches and stops the spin and I fall. I have the spin part down, i just had too little of a wake. Also i had to fight the reaction of standing up instead of trusting the spin and the board. I am so close tho

What board are you using--CWB Tsunami I'm guessing? Awesome video, brah. I've been looking for a video like this for a long long time. After at least 100+ attempts, a successful '3 continues to elude me, but I'm hoping your paddle technique does the trick. Can't wait to get out there and try it!
@Reviewoutlaw9 жыл бұрын
Ben Bhand Let me know how it works for you, i have had people try it 5 times and do it and others do it 150 trys with no luck, after doing it more riding switch and building up that other leg muscle Def. helps. Don't give up you will get it just try 10 times each time you go on the water and then quit you will get it!

Hey man, great video! My friends and I are SO CLOSE, I think Ken of us will get it any day now. Can you elaborate a little more on the foot pressure as far as when you spin, when your 180 and then to return back?
@Reviewoutlaw7 жыл бұрын
Glad you guys are "SO CLOSE", it's almost worst at the point because not getting the 360 at the point is almost painful and it will keep you up at night thinking about it! LoL! As far as the Foot pressure you have two options option one is keep your balance at 50% on each foot and just go for a really Fast spin and recover, AKA Paddle after Spin . Option 2: a Bit trickier but will look really cool. You can split the 360 in to two 180's and slow the spin down. in this case you want to put about 60% on the back foot and 40% of the front foot, the really hard part is switching the weight as you spin, so as you riding Switch you will sill need 60% on you backfoot. and the back to regular switch the weight again. Keep this in mind when you try, Stay Low, Stay Centered over the middle of the board, and after the spin, Paddle or lean forward or anything it takes to no Drop back in that wave. What often times happens is you are confused where you are on the wave and by the time you realize where you are it's to late to recover. Upload a video of your attempts and i can try to give you some more Tips! Best of luck you guys will get it!

Are there skegs on the board? If so are they small or regular size?
@Reviewoutlaw7 жыл бұрын
Interesting I had to google search Skegs just to make sure they were what I though they are, I usually call them fin's, But to answer your question they are very small they did come stock with the board, but if you have a bigger board or "skegs" they will be a bit longer and it will help with Carving, When you want to do Tricks you want smaller fin's. Best of luck out on the Water!
@floydage17 жыл бұрын
Thanks! My fins (skegs) are pretty big so that might explain why I am having trouble getting around on a 360. This is a huge help. Thanks Again!

I have the scoop down and land it bu always fall, any tips
@Reviewoutlaw7 жыл бұрын
If you have a Video, i can give you more advise, but here is what to try, before you do your 360 go really far back in the wave and work on coming back in from the far back of the wave 4-5 times, really low on the board, in a squat position. If you are falling it prob means you are standing to tall and are not balance over the center of the board. You could try to put one hand on the board for extra balance and keep it on the board for the entire 360. Best of Luck you will get it with time and a Crap Load of Falls!
@jacksonkendrick9437 жыл бұрын
I consider myself a expert rider having shuvs and airs and frontside airs down (I am hoping to get sponsored soon, I say that to express my skill level). What I looked at this video for was for seeing how to do it in one solid motion, I usually one-eighty and then finish out and I know all the basic stuff like pumping back in the wave, do u have tips for doing it in one solid motion?
@Reviewoutlaw7 жыл бұрын
That's pretty Sweet, I'm working on my Pop Shuv-it's my Self so I know how hard that can be. Def. Record your 360 in Slow-Mo so you can break down where you are failing. If you want to do it in one motion you need to keep your body weight 50% / 50% where if you break it in to 180's you are shifting your body weight. Also you need a Bigger Scoop of Water when you come in from the back of the Wave, Really Attack the back of the boat with speed and HUGE Scoop. I like the look of the 180 and then another 180 it's slower so people can see what you are doing, But it's fun to mix it up! Keep on Surfing!

What kind of board would you recommend because I have a 07 inland surfer and it is 2 stable to pull a 360 on
@Reviewoutlaw9 жыл бұрын
Aidan Neill well surfers are going to be much harder than a skim style, one with a fin in front and fin and back would be best, short fins, inland surfer makes a bunch of different boards which is yours?
@joeurbanski348 жыл бұрын
Just curious why don't u pump to recover?
@Reviewoutlaw8 жыл бұрын
That is also another way to recover the only issue with that is it's a bit more advanced because you will normally stand tall when you are pumping to recover and often by the time you are standing tall and starting to pump back you have already lost the wave. Also Paddling helps you to stop over rotating which is very common for first learning the 360. Have a Great Summer Surfing!

So I've got a tall and long wave and when I do a 360, I spin into the top of the wave. (Nautique 2010 with ballasts and fat sacks full)
@Reviewoutlaw8 жыл бұрын
It's tough to say with out seeing it, if you have time take a phone and record you trying it in slow-mo if the phone has it and upload to KZbin and paste the link. Otherwise it could be where you are spinning on the wave, maybe to far away, try to stay perfectly centered over the middle of the board you could be leaning over your board to much. Best of luck you will get it!!!!

What speed do you drive for your 360's?
@Reviewoutlaw9 жыл бұрын
+Eric Hart Good Question! I've done them at 9.6 , 10.6 and 11mph it is a very hard question a lot depends on that boat and how it is weighted and how big or long the wave is. If you have a video of you trying one i can give you more advice. but here is my suggestion, try it at a slow , medium and fast. and record all three then look at the video in slow-mo and do 10 more at the best speed you did. you want the wave to be nice and long because you will drift back a lot after you spin, you want a super fast spin so you want to start back in the wave and get speed going forward then one clean motion spin and paddle to stop yourself from over rotating. Best of Luck keep trying and you will get it!

For some reason I keep over spinning and ending up doing a 540 and keep ending up on the other side please help
@Reviewoutlaw8 жыл бұрын
This is a very common problem when first learning, the good part is you have the spinning parts down which takes a while to get. The fact you are doing a 540 means you need to not spin as hard as you are , and if you are ending up on the other side you might need to stay lower on the board and keep your shoulders level when you spin. If you have a video of your attempts that would help me narrow down the issue faster. Best of luck keep trying them you will get it!
@kendlol27648 жыл бұрын

+Review Outlaw I went for 3 hours of non stop trying and still did not stay in the wake which kinda got me mad lol it was really frustrating
@Reviewoutlaw8 жыл бұрын
+Kend Lol you are so close! Is I'm sure what you are hearing it drives you nuts! After you get the spin down its hard to see where you are because often water goes in your eye any by the time you do see you are so far back on the wave it's impossible to recover. I recommend you start paddling as soon as you spin. By "paddling" it puts your body in a forward lean and will add more weight on ur front foot. Upload a video of ur attempts of you have time. Best of luck!

Yes i have Fin's but they are shallow not long, this will allow me to spin easier but it will be harder to stop spining after i have completed the 360. Some people can surf with out fin's like Austin Keen it's really hard though!
