How to do a Figure of 8 in Reverse on a Counterbalance Forklift Truck | 4KS Forklift Training

In this online Forklift Training video, our instructor Mola demonstrates how to do a figure of eight (figure 8 forklift) in reverse on a counterbalance forklift truck. This is another part of the training course to show students how to practise our steering, making sure we have full control of the forklift truck.

Steps for Forklift Figure of 8 in Reverse:
► Complete the correct moving off procedure; (GOBO) Gear, Observation, Handbrake release and final Observation.
► Twist your body and arm behind the seat looking at the direction of travel
► Keeping limbs in the confines of the forklift truck
► Reverse slowly in a controlled speed waiting for the centre of barrel to line up with centre of front wheel axle (pivot point)
► Feather your steering around the barrel maintaining 2-3 inches from the barrel
► Once truck is turning keep an eye on the fork arms swinging
► Apply footbrake, twist your body posture facing the turning of the barrel
► Swap your hands and control your speed maintaining 2-3 inches from the barrel
► Ensure observations are maintained including fork arms swinging
