How to do a Mohawk (Liberty Spike)

In this quick video tutorial, I will show you how I did a liberty spike Mohawk hairstyle for my Japanese Language school speech event. It is a simple concept with mostly just hairspray, step-by-step instructions below. Feel free to leave questions & comments below, try my best to answer them!

Detailed list of things you need
1) A mirror infront for front view, a mirror behind for back view. Use anything kind of mirror as long as you can see what you are doing front and back.
2) Hairdryer with heated air setting.
3) Hair elastics/clips for tying your hair into spike sections for easy working. Check 2:52 of the video to see the sectioning.
4) Basically any SUPER hardest hairspray you can find. I am using fragrance-free Sealand Ultra Hard Styling hairspray, you can google it to check it out.
5) Any super hard gel and super hard matte wax.
6) Any soft comb/brush to detangle your hair before you start sectioning your hair.
Detailed step by step description.
1) Make sure you hair is dry thoroughly and comb through your hair with the comb/brush to detangle your hair FIRST before doing anything.
2) Section your hair into the spikes sections using the hair elastics. Depending on the thickness of the spike you want. I used about a 4cm by 5cm section for my spikes. Check 2:52 of the video to see the sectioning. Tie the sections into a pony tail and clip them out of the way as you work.
3)Starting from the front part of your head ( above forehead) , untie and work the first section. Spray the hairspray with nozzle close to hair to have "liquid spray" to saturate about 1/3 length of the hair aka. the base. Remember to get even the inner parts of spike. Check video 00:22 onwards.
4)With one hand holding up the spike already saturated with spray, blow dry the sprayed base part with hot air, dry thoroughly, takes about 20-30secs. Just dry it completely and it should be standing on its own. Check video 00:51.
5)Finish the remaining top length with saturation of spray and holding it up with good tension and drying it thoroughly.
6)Repeat the process until you finish all the sections.
7)Rub the super hard gel on the exterior of the base length to further enforce the strength of the spike. Blow dry it thoroughly.
8)Finish off the tip of the spike with the wax if it doesnt look sharp enough.
Remember to work the base inside and out with spray and dry thoroughly, when base is strong, spike is strong. Takes about 1 and half hour to complete in real time, have some patience and good luck!
