Wow, it would be a dream come true to come and train with you! I've been a flight nut my whole life, briefly piloting a c172 at age 9 had me hooked. I got my first flight simulator (microsoft fs4.0) before I even had a computer back in 7th grade and used it on the feeble Macintosh in my wood shop class after school. Lately I have been having a blast flying in X-plane, especially around B.C. while learning from your excellent videos. Keep up the good work my friend, hopefully I'll get to come meet you someday!

That was a very instructional and great video. I can completely apply everything that you demonstrated in this video with the flight that you and I just had last week. Thank you. Good job Rick!

Do you ever consider inflatable PFD's when you spend time above water? Wee extra safety strategy. Thank you for your channel, so very informative and a treat for those of us that yearned for wing but chose another path in life. Fly safe and keep the vids coming.

The 66 has floats but in the Cabri we stay close to the shore of the river or lake. Mischa always says gliding distance to the shore. -Rick

Helicopter circuits @1,000ft AG. Is that upon request of certain air traffic control towers? I thought is was about 500-600ft AG to avoid fixed wing traffic patterns? Just curious 🙂

Depends on where you are at and what you are trying to do. Whether you are infield practicing or trying to land on the runway at an airport. -Rick

I wonder if Rick find the helicopter too small for him? Great videos anyways! I wish I found this channel before my studies.

Hey this is Rick. I am 6 foot 6 inches and the only issue I’ve had with my height in the Cabri helicopter is my legs being up higher so I don’t get as much cyclic movement left or right. I of course adjust the petals out every morning :-)

Within a perfect circuit wouldn't you include other items to shoot for like Parameters to meet during the climb, leveling off, decent, approach and landing. Giving the pilot parameters to shoot for during a standard or specific conditions? Allowing the pilot to self teach and evaluate themselves in addition to your input. Have the student pilot talk out loud as they follow or drift away from the parameters, then interject. Student pilot will spend more time on perfecting their performance than listening to input. If parameters are set the instructor can't move the goal post. It might not be an issue at 1400 feet though gud mental practice to perform power checks or estimates before every takeoff or landing, not only where the helicopter is approaching it's limits? Just thoughts. Fly with a plan.

I'm guessing flying a helicopter challenges your multi-tasking skills?
@wanderingwalkers23195 жыл бұрын
Yes it does! Everyone in our class says how much our brains hurt by the end of the day, we are learning so much.

My brain was hurting watching this so I can only imagine.
