Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa… I’ve been in the hair industry for 35 years, and as a perfectionist, I have to say WELL DONE ! Using the corner of the blade instead of the entire blade is something I’m taking away from this - THANK YOU 👌🏼

I've been hairdressing since 1984. While about 40% of my clientele are men, I got my first Fade request. Thank you SO much for your videos!! I was never taught a lot of barbering techniques, and I am in awe of you!! Still don't trust myself with a straight razor though!!
@chrizjenj3910 Жыл бұрын
You're a good instructor. My fade came out exactly the same. With the use of a different set of guards and understanding clipper guards. A1. Thanks.

Ive been a Cosmetologist for48 years, and although I went to Beauty School, my first job back in 1975 was with a Barber, who taught me how to free hand almost all of it including the beards. I only worked there 6 years and went back into Cosmetology. Well, as of 7 months ago, I was asked to come work at a Barbershop, and boy have things changed. I love the idea of using all these guards, which my old boss called cheaters, they make things go a lot faster, and we only have 20 minutes to create a work of art. I still do all my fine tuning free hand but I am loving your channel and know I needed a refresher course. I use the blenders and love them too. I have only used a Tondeo razor for 48 years and am interested in the one you were using. Back in the day, men wore their hair long, so I didn't get the chance to do many fades. I have always considered myself a Tonsorial Artist, and will definitely be back to study more of your art work. Thanks for doing your videos, they are a great source of education.

How old are you out of interest? It's really cool you've gone back to being a barber
@hots7134 Жыл бұрын
@@Billyb0b557 I'm 70 years young, I went into doing hair when I was 23 officially, but always enjoyed doing friends hair since I was 12. Now I just consider it a hobby as I want to keep moving and using my brain. I enjoy new things in my art and love sharing also, as I was a platform artist for many years. I learned back in beauty school that you never take anything you learned in this art to the grave with you. It does no one any good. So keep on sharing with us, and I will keep on watching!

I was going to ask Faded why some salons work without guards except for #1 and #1 1/2 and freehand the cut i am used to the guards. cutting without guards seem more repetitious with our wrist.if you could offer benefits of clipper over comb without guards and cuts with guards

Love the video and channel, been cutting hair at a salon for a few years now still learning. The only thing I wanna say is words from my shear sharpener- do not use your shears to cut the bulk/large ponytail sections of hair off, use your clippers; Shears are meant to cut small subsections of hair only, if you cut large sections of hair you will run the risk of damaging and dulling your shears. His words not mine, but made all the sense in the world when he said that. Again great video and channel, thank you for the many tutorials, they have helped me feel like I deserve the price tag of my mens cuts.

You guys do amazing work! I would love to see a non-model type model in one of your tutorials. All your models have the best hair and head shape for a fade but lots of guys have bumpy heads, rolls of fat on the back of their head and/or lighter, thinner hair, yet they still want fades. Could you show us how to deal with these adversities in fade cutting?

you mentioned that this method is the two guideline method instead of the 3 that I’ve seen in your other videos. Could you share with us the differences between the two; cons and pros? Which is easier etc?
@ronbrown9762 Жыл бұрын
I was going to ask the same question. Please reply
@eeiko321 Жыл бұрын
@@ronbrown9762 yeah like if one would turn out cleaner and maybe more compressed-looking fade etc. Also another question I forgot to ask is which one is easier on a self-cut… as doing self cuts there’s limitations to lighting, visibility etc.

There definitely needs to be an international standard on barbering. So many bad barbers out there ruining hair on a daily. One suggestion I got for Faded Culture is to do more people with other hair colors then black/dark
@FADEDCULTURE2 жыл бұрын
That’s just mainly our demographic here but we do a have a few lighter color hair videos but honestly it’s the same steps, although it’s just harder to see guidelines on camera on lighter hair so for video purposes it kinda don’t make sense. If that makes sense
@wheelchair4652 жыл бұрын
@@FADEDCULTURE thanks for the reply, I do love your videos and agreed, lighter hair picks up different on camera. I've got a light brown/blonde hair color and wish mine was black, so much easier for hairstyles 🤣 Keep up the good work from Sweden 🇸🇪
