I think it's hard to make a bun look this graceful and neither too severe or sloppy - and this one is just right, maybe it just depends on the person, though, in which case Kayli pulls it off incredibly well. Beautiful!

I would have never thought in a million years to use a sock! This hairstyle is gorgeous! Great job Kayli!! :)

I've been doing the sock bun for a few months now, I love it! It completely blew my mind! Also, I have really long hair so it takes some patience and placing of the hair but it stays in pretty good :)

The way that I always did this for Dance was use a old nylon tight and just cut the leg off so that it blends in the hair even better than a white or black sock. !!! Thanks for all that great tips and tricks you give us Kayli!!

I used to do this when I was young and in cadets, but I never thought of dressing it up with braids! Thanks kayli, this is great for getting up and going to school!

it's insane how much i love her. she's gorgeous, inspiring, and the sweetest person ever. it would piss me off if people showed her hate (they obviously don't because it's impossible not to like her). I just wanna give her nothing but love.

I love all your hair styles! ive tried almost all of them, and I wear your twist all the time! I would love it if you did a video on how to style really thin hair, sometimes it falls out or doesnt curl as easily.
@AnnyLaa12 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I have never thought it would be that easy!! Before I did that kind of bun with pins, but it was more fragile and it took much more time. But with a sock I didn't have to do it twice, because it was perfect :) And it's so fast to do!! Thank you!!!
@buntzy212 жыл бұрын
I think that a less-than-perfect bun is cute and stylish! When I had long hair, I could never get my do's to stay up at all....my hair was too thin. This method is so awesome, it adds body and stability. If you want your bun to look more like hers, maybe try a longer/thicker sock? Not all socks are created equal!

sooo cute! the pony tail was also adorable with the curls!
@RaeG12312 жыл бұрын
i do this bun but in a different way. i put my hair in a pony and back comb the tail (if you want the bun to be messy).then wrap the tail around its self. it makes this same sort of doughnut shape, but you just need to use a lot more grips and hair spray to hold it in place :) i have long-ish, thick hair and a lot of layers and this works very well!
@0loz012 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh Kayli, that was so cool! So pretty, yet so easy. Mind you, I was having a hard time deciding which sock to destroy but in the end it was totally worth losing a sock. I love this bun, thank you! :D

I was in cadets too! I saw many people who used the sock bun idea to make their bun, so smart!! I would just braid my hair in two and bobby pin it. So much work!

you make everything look so easy. you can clip the layers where its falling and when you get to it you can unclip it and quickly wrap it. it will look messy but it will all just mesh together in the end and look good

I've also tried a sock bun by doing the ponytail, then pulling the sock down to the bottom of the ponytail, fanning out the hair, then putting an thin elastic over it all. Then with the ends, I twist them around and bobby pin

I am genuinely one of this people who has always wondered how people do this and now I know! I have never seen this before!! Thank you, definitly trying that tomorrow! =)
@meganlovescoach12 жыл бұрын
if the sock doesnt work, goody makes a bun form that is essentially the samething, only it might be easier to put it down the pony tail instead of rolling it, and then when it is at the base of the pony tail, fold the hair over it and take an elastic to secure it (like if you were going to make a pony tail again) then you could tuck all the ends around and hold them down with bobby pins.
@Biebersprincess1412 жыл бұрын
So cute! I've tried this before but I couldn't get it right because my hair is very long and thick, but your video has inspired me to give it another go! I'm going to try it now. :)

I love this! I have really thin hair, so my buns always look horrible, but now, my buns are nice and big!
@jordanhare49812 жыл бұрын
i've known how to do this for a long time and i love it! BUT did you know that it's also a really good curling method? you put the bun up at night while your hair is a tiny bit damp, leave it overnight and take it out in the morning and it makes beautiful, bouncy curls that stay in all day, without any heat! it's great, and obviously it doesn't curl the top so it looks really nice :) thumbs up so kayli can see this please! :)

Looks very simple, great video. How about a video about hair breakage-- why your hair breaks off, how to avoid it, and how to conceal fly-aways.
@apt1835312 жыл бұрын
It took me so many tries but I have a trick!!! Instead of pulling your hair all the way through the sock before rolling it, keep it already folded under the sock to help it so it doesn't stick out! Then after rolling it, wrap another hair tie around the whole thing to keep it in!! Remember, hairspray helps too! It worked for my long, thick hair!!!
@VenatrixOoriana11 жыл бұрын

i had the same problem at first but then i flipped my head over so i was bent over then i did it , of course it turned out terrible at first but after a couple tries i got it done :) turning your head over helps all your hair stay one way so none of the pieces fall out.
