Hi, This will give you all a good laugh. I only came to ballet 4 years ago and I have found it the most existing form of body training. I have tried the gym and the grunt workout but the result is not what I was looking for. So now I am in class twice a week and I am practicing for the Royal Academy of Dance Grade - 1 ballet exam. Now some of you will know that this is more usually taken by 7 year old children just starting out on their ballet journey well, for me it is the start of my ballet journey but, I am a 75 year old male who, after losing his wife of 55 years sold the TV and when out dancing. So you will have to now imaging me 6 foot tall in my tights practicing for my first ever dance exam. Al the best from Bernard Bibby (UK)

Hi Abbie! First off, don't be afraid to fail. We actually learn more from our mistakes than from doing things perfectly right off the bat (to be clear no one does things perfectly at first). As far as beginner classes for your age, talk to the studio owner about where you might fit in. It could be at first you would take a class with students slightly younger than yourself until you catch up OR an Adult Ballet class could be the solution at first. Don't give up!

I am a teacher myself and I encourage you to pursue dance if it be your dream. Do it for the enjoyment. Find your happy. Discover grace and movement in a fun and positive environment. Many girls start at you age. It is never too late to learn. 💛

Just found this channel! I'm an adult, and I'm learning ballet for fun at the gym. Could you please help me to break the moves down from a standing position, sometimes the choreography is slow and it doesn't have any jumps before it, or anything leading up to it. Also, any tips on dancing on a gym/foam/cork floor? It isn't a flat floor, and it's hard to turn as your feet grip the floor. Thank you. :)

It depends on your level and if you have a strong classical base. I would suggest you ask your dance teacher for an objective opinion on that.
