She is not being too rough. We are all trained to hold the beard or you risk them moving their head and getting scissors in the eye. Also I know plenty that are clipped. It’s called a pet trim. I clip and hand strip westies. This is a fab groom. If the dog hated it or was in pain he wouldn’t be so chill trust me!

The groomer is being to rough with brushing. That is why the dog was being snippy. Have you ever brushed your skin with that type of brush, it hurts!!! This is why I never take my maltese to a groomer.

Much too rough! Always pulling on chin hairs. Easily can tell this is a job and not a passion . Skirt is too short. Westie owner for 30 plus years.

Judging by the matting, it is a good thing to take the skirt short, because the owner apparently is not going to maintain any length of coat on the dog.

Poor baby-it's shakin like a leaf. This is why I don't take my Westie to a groomer. I gently cut her hair and she loves it. She doesn't like the noise from the trimmer. And she has NEVER snapped at me! Sorry but couldn't finish this video. If someone treated me like that I'd bite them for sure!

Pff she's not to rough. Dog shake to get out frustration when they are bored and can't remove themselves from a situation. I bet you go home and eat meat that are really been brutally handled without even blinking.

This is painful for me to watch. It is not proper grooming for a Westie. A Westie should be "stripped" not clipped. It is almost a lost art/skill.

You only strip them if you want them in shows - these are house dogs and besides, stripping expertise is hard to find. I know this because we have owned many westies over the last 30 years.

@@mrp410 I had my Westie in the early 60s and striped him myself. Put a full bedsheet on the floor, it was plàytime ànd I think either wore all I striped off or had it in my mouth! Jamie was my favorite only dog; I still miss him. Hoping to get another this spring but, may be too senior for a breeder. How many Westies have you had over the years? Carrie Doss I know a lot of westie breeders And nobody of them shaves their westies because The standard of the westie is to have a Nice wavy And wiry coat And by shaving you destroy The breed.

@@juliazackova6589 again, do some research. It doesn't destroy the Westie. Not everyone wants a westie to be in that exact specific westie cut. Parent preference doesn't mean it "ruins" the breed or coat.

@@carriesnest But clipping, instead of hand stripping, destroys the natural wire coat of the Westie, and makes it coat soft and straight. Westies are supposed to look scruffy and have a wire coat. Once you clip them it's all gone.

Gentle????? That poor dog was terrified!! What kind of idiot would use sharp pointed scissors on a nervous, jumpy dog, and ESPECIALLY around the eyes????? The poor little thing could have been blinded or maimed. That mean looking person should never be allowed around dogs again. This is also why I groom my own Westie and he looks better than her "professional" job. Put her in dog jail.

I have two Westies and prefer no skirt. Many Westie owners do the same. A groomer doesn't just remove the skirt without being told to do so
