@@dan797 hi Dan. Our Maggie was 17.25yr when she died and we barely ever took her to the vet. She had a good life with lots of walking and a family who doted on her. She was 1 in a million.🥰

Beautiful video, we had two white west highland terriers. We just lost one the bitch at 12 years old called Princess ,from kidney problems, miss her loads. The other one a male called Gordon is still with us ,he is nearly 13 now, but he misses Princess so much as well, it has only been 10 weeks, but it is so hard to get over. We will just let Gordon live out his life now ,with all the love and care we have always give them. As we are both 66 now ,we may be to old to have anymore, but we would have if we were younger. We could not have any children, but with Princess and Gordon we came close, they were our little kids, people who don't have dogs, don't understand that they are apart of the family, When we lost Princess, we were really up set, and a guy i no longer speak to, i heard he said good God ,what is a matter with them two ,it was only a dog, it was not like they lost a child. But to us they were our children.

Westies are the best aren’t they?! Lost my boy nearly 15 years ago when he was 14 years old. I still miss him terribly 😢 I like all dogs but westies have stolen my heart 💜 and they are the only purebred dog I’ll ever own. I now have a rescue dog who’s a shepherd mix and he’s great but I’m considering adding a westie to my life again

I've grown up with 6 Westies......They are so adorable, extremely intelligent, and are incredibly stubborn....all in which makes them the great dogs of all time.....They are absolutely the biggest diggers and are absolutely some of the best hunters out there......They love rabbit holes and if they see a frog in the pool...that's your babysitter for the entire day....I guarantee they will win!!! But they are also huge water dogs! Lastly, huge family dogs! My parents had both a Westie and a Scottie and when I was brought home and put in my crib....They wouldn't leave and would be our protectors...My parents were actually anxious and scared to come up to the crib...........now that's a good dog!

I absolutely loved watching this your post. Brought back great memories of my first dog. She was feisty and lovable. Broke my heart when my parents told me she had to be put down when we were on vacation . She was having heart problems. Best friend ever. Will always miss my little dog. She loved going to our farm and rolling in the cow poop . Didn’t even look like she was a white dog after she finished. Stinky too. Lol.

I had lost my hearing eared Westie in 2018, named Puddles, she was a great one I ever had for 18 years! Very quick to learn to read my signs and not only that she was a great helper since I'm disabled where I am a wheelchair bound. She'll sit on my lap as we go to the bank, or to the CVS which were not too far from my place. She'll get a "withdrawal from an account" to sign out a withdrawal, you have to use a fingerprint to make a withdrawal, but with Puddles, she uses her pawprint to do so (she has done this many times and knows what's it for. After knowing that, She'll grab a piece of paper that 's near the teller 's keyboard by sliding down for me to hold on and grabbed the ink pad to slide it to me to help her with that. Everyone there just about died laughing seeing her doing that after one of the other people was about to scream for something, but didn't know of the whole reasons for that and many others. And of course Puddles also has her own bank card for all that doing and she felt embarrassed about telling someone what was happening of all that! I had Puddles shake hands with her and not to be embarrassed. Puddles hid her eyes with her own paw over it.. The lady wrote a note to me saying that it was a first that she ever saw a working dog doing all that! And given Puddles a nice thumbs up and did a testing with her with her own hands up high as a high five sign and boy she sure knew what that meant right off the bat right away and I was surprised myself!! She asked if it's okay to give Puddles a BIG HUG and I said she'll love it! But there's another thing for that - she really gives you a huge hug by wrapping her very own arms around one's neck, resting her head on one's shoulder and sending some soft sounds 🎶 to one's ear. I'd get a good look from the person that she's wondering what Puddles is trying to say to her. I would wonder about that also whenever she's trying to say!! There's alot that I never know about it!! lol lol lol a Morse code that I never got it broken??! She was my best "child" that I ever had for 18 years and I still cry about it for a very long time!! I still would LOVE TO have another one!! But there's a few things that I am unable to have my own at this time.

Our 12 year-old Westie, Sophie, had to be put down two weeks ago today. She had a spinal tumor, and was in immense pain. 😪 My heart is broken. My daughter just found and made a down-payment on a 3 week-old Westie. We just got pics of her, and she’s adorable.🥰 It’s so funny how they start out looking like polar bear cubs…I love it!💕

I am so sorry. After I lost my Westie: Katie,I got 4 more Westies within 3 weeks as the emptiness really hit home. I always say that it is not disrespectful as you always have your wonderful memories of your Westie but you can give a loving home to new dogs and it takes your mind away from dwelling on your lovely Westie. and feeling sad.

How gorgeous! When my Molly gave birth she hated them, she killed one at birth. We then had to muzzle her to get them to feed from her, and we reared them. They grew into 3 beautiful puppies, but it was very sad and difficult when Molly would growl at them when they were in their cage.
