How to do an oil change on a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

Next time my friend needs his oil changed on his truck...he can pay me the $100.00 he would give to the dealer or one of those ripoff oil change shops. Thanks for doing the video. Great job.

Best if the oil is a little warm before draining. Did your Drain plug have a gasket or crush washer? What are the torque specifications for the drain plug when reinstalling?

I leave filter and plug out till it's completely drained than put filback on

Oil should be hot so any particles are suspended in the oil and drain out rather than stay in the bottom of the pan. Sometimes a little more oil will come out once you remove the filter so I would leave the plug out until it is completely drained. Also most new vehicles have a crush washer that shouldn’t be reused and needs to be replaced on the oil plug.

Worm up engine just at mid temp then drain it !!!

Put 7 quarts in, run 3 minutes, let set 10 minutes, check oil level, and top off with 8th quart. Mine takes 7 and 1/2 quarts with filter change. 8 quarts is capacity dry after assembly. 7 1/2 quarts wet. I'd say he over filled it.
