Hi! Glad to hear that our videos are helpful for you 😊 We actually released a brand new Ashtanga for Beginners course last week that follows a similar structure to what you're looking for. It's a 30 day program with 30 days of classes and lessons. Each day you'll learn a new pose (in sequence) and have a class that leads you through the sequence up until what you've learned that day. There are also meditation, pranayama, and vinyasa theory classes as well. The program has lifetime access and is on sale for the entire month of April. ⭐️ Click this link to find out more: www.davidandjelenayoga.com/ashtanga-for-beginners-30-day-program/

Great demo. I Had a severe shoulder tendinitis by practicing wrongly this asana for years. When you don't have enough strength in your arms please put the knees down before being able to have the correct pattern

Hi, i want just thank you. I wanted to learn ashtanga, but I get so frustrated. Even doing half series everything was in pain (wrong postures), ending in the middle with tears of frustration and disappointment. I am starting to build strength with your videos. Just making ashtanga for the beginners and tutorials how to do properly make postures. I search through many different tutorials but yours is really great and full of good explanation

Thank you for this breakdown 😊 when I started yoga I found this pose soo hard with a lot of things to focus on. I also had such a hard time tucking my tailbone because of a drastic lack of core strength. It really took me a few years to master it correctly ! And it was really hard to develop patience and commitment in a world where everything is supposed to be instantly there. I guess this is when I learned sole of the 8 lines of yoga: non grasping, and non violence. 😊

This is what I needed ☺️ That is probably my most confusing posture. I have had a frozen shoulder also and I definitely know I was doing that wrong. the best!! Just got a question after watching the arm position video - when the elbows bend at 90 degrees, do we do an internal or external rotation?
@cecilybailey5720 Жыл бұрын
So one thing about this Chaturanga you are teaching...I do Love it, but I just wonder about no mention of shoulders? I was always taught not to let the shoulders come lower than elbows...in your demo it looks a little like sometimes the shoulders are coming lower. Isn't this a problem for the rotator cuff? Thank you.
@cheerubebayonettaholopaine2638 Жыл бұрын
at the beginning, a chaturanga pose was always hard for me. i never really held it long. so i did not put effort in it. my acutal yoga journey brought me to a point when i suddenly realised, i was able to do it for a pretty long time 😂 i simply lowered slowly from plank every time i did yoga with mady morrisons videos and after around 8 weeks i was strong enough. 😅

I've had to recover from a shoulder pinch injury and am obviously concerned with my Chaturanga form. I've heard instructors say tuck your chin for neck length. Clearly, the chest and chin raised up comfortably definitely aids proper shoulder placement. Shoulders are always trying to take the brunt of an exercise and I want to engage more muscle recruitment. This is really great bc shoulder injuries are so painful. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback and yes shoulder injuries are no fun at all. Happy to hear you're on the mend!
