If I'm ever in this situation, I'll do the chest compressions to 'Staying Alive' rather than 'Another One Bites the Dust', thank you 😅

But dogs can rarely rarely have heart attacks. Their hearts are highly vascularized and their coronary arteries have more alternative routes. Soo what could CPR be good for for dogs?

For the rare time that they might have a heart attack.

If the dog is not breathing or doesn't have a heartbeat. This can occur for a number of reasons, including trauma, choking or illness. BTW, dogs can suffer from cardiac arrest like humans can!

A common confusion is that cardiac arrest and heart attack are the same thing. A heart attack (myocardial infarction) is the death of heart tissue due to a clot stopping or highly reducing blood flow in a coronary artery. This itself can cause cardiac arrest but they’re not the same thing and there are several other causes of cardiac arrest (for example hypothermia). Cardiac arrest is the name given to when the heart stops beating for itself, this is what warrants CPR and other forms of resuscitation. People and animals can be suffering from a heart attack for several hours before it escalates into cardiac arrest. So the alternative vascular pathways is an interesting difference regarding myocardial infarction, but there could be many many other causes of cardiac arrest in both humans and dogs where CPR and resuscitation attempts can be successful in restoring life. Hope this helps with any confusion :)
