Mechanics now days can only rely on OBD…. Even OBD is a general diagnostics. These mechanics take the code and replace what they are told. I had a gas cap error, that really had nothing to do with the gas cap but rather a vacuum switch.

It is kind of funny the OBD code was still used for diagnostics. The old Honda's also have a led (or 4) on the ECU, nice incase the dash lights are burned out.

That’s on 91 and older Hondas. 92-95 don’t have the led light.

Alldata seems cool but I wish they had discounts for multiple cars, for 3 vehicles it’s $180/year and I may only need to access it a few times. I guess I could just go monthly instead at $20/mo per vehicle but who knows how many times you end up needing it. Are there any comparable cheaper services?

When it comes to online services they’ll all be a crazy amount compared to a factory manual. We don’t pay per car we pay for full access to alldata.

So what things in an engine bay wiring harness are deletable? Purge canisters, egr solenoids, ect. Asking for a friend 😉

In OBD1 cars? Most anything.
