Before she can teach, she 1st needs to learn the braids origin. Dutch braids=Cultural Appropriation. France & the Netherlands had an African slave trade just as the USA. They stole people, land, resources, art & culture. African braiding techniques were just another art stolen & renamed. The latest appropriation in 2923 is cornrows renamed "viking braids." That's how it works & it never ends.

Thank you! Because I learned to do a fishtail braid by wrapping over and into the middle, I have tried to incorporate it in a Dutch style by basically bringing the new strand locking it to the head all the way across underneath and around the side and then through the middle and holding on the side it came from, this is much neater and easier. A French fishtail style is also lovely and easier as you just continue adding and ending up with everything tucked inside. It is great for sporty styles on girls with shorter hair or layers because the short pieces are locked inside underneath the braid and longer pieces.
