I have super long extensions in my hair, they’re called Dreamcatchers, and they don’t come out unless I get them removed. You have to put them in a loose braid or a bun at night so you don’t pull them out (if you lay on a couple of them, they can come out or loosen, but you can’t pull them all out at once) For the first like...2 weeks I had them, I was so proud of the fact that each of the three sections was even. Now I’m like 4 months in and the sections are NEVER EQUAL. I don’t know what happened😂 it always looks so ridiculous. I wanted to watch this tutorial and the French braid one as well so I could learn how to braid my real hair as well as the long part, because the extensions get such a beautiful wave to them when I wake up after braiding them and my real hair always looks soooo stupid😂 it looked so easy when she did it, but I’m struggling so badly right now lmao

Hello fellow frustrated people! :) Here are some tips I have found when trying this out for.... several .... hours (rip 😭) P.S this are some rlly basic things, so if they sound dumb and you are like “shouldn’t you already know dat?!!!”, just stop. I already know, but for the simple souls who were as confused as me, here ya go! :) 1. If your arms hurt like... a lot. The only thing I got for you is to just take a break! If your arm hurts while braiding, just hold the braid with one hand and let your other arm rest! It sounds dumb that I had to tell myself to do that but it rlly helped! 2. Ik in the video it shows how she holds it but, she doesn’t say it. When braiding, place your arms on the side that you are braiding on! Not above your head (you can still do it like that though) or on the opposite side, just put your arms on the side on which you are braiding? Legit, when I looked at another video and did this, it made everything 10x easier!!! 3. If you want your hair higher just bring your arms higher, of course it’s hard to keep them but, take breaks! I found it easier that if I just braided higher and took time to take breaks, you gucci! 👌🏻 4. Keep close to your head!!! If you pull your hair away when braiding, you gonna get some saggy braids, just pull them closer! 5. Try not to look in the mirror when braiding, it confuses you! Obviously look in the mirror if it’s in the right position but, try and braid from feeling! 6. The most obvious PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!! If you feel frustrated, but try it again a day later. You shouldn’t be in a rush to make it perfect on the first try!! Shout out to Drakes Nest video “Easy French braid tutorial”. I got most of these tips either from her or my own experience. I would check it out! I just put these tips here bc this was the first video when searching up Dutch braids (just putting it here even though it’s French braid as ppl still might need dis, so plz no attack me for putting it in amp her of her vids!!! just want more struggling people to see this!!!

I have watched dozens of 'how to braid your own hair' tutorials, and yours is the first and only one that I could manage to do even remotely! Thank you. Your technique was very helpful. I think the difficult thing for me was trying to get the braid higher towards the middle part, instead of just going lower on the hairline, so I was always fighting with trying to hold and manipulate crossing over 3 stands of hair outside of my eyeline, above my head... the arms get super tired, real quick!... whereas lower on the sides it's much more achievable. Whilst it didn't turn out particularly neat on my first try, I'm sure with practice I'll get there! Thanks! 😊
