Just a tip - the sticky residue left behind after curing your top coat is harmful to skin so when removing it you should be careful to just swipe down and away from your cuticles and fingers instead of wiping back and forth 😊 beautiful job on the video though. You've such lovely hands and nails! Hope to see more tutorials soon X

I live in Houston. The weather is horrible right now. The streets are flooded, a lot of people have lost lots of their belongings, and some of my friends and family have lost their cars to water damage. Today has been full of anxiety and sadness. This video came right on time. I might actually get to sleep tonight. Thank you so much.

These are some points that I feel like generally people who do their nails should know and somethings you should also know -do not use a sawing motion on the free edge of the nail, it will cause splitting. Please only file in one direction, from the side to the tip of the nail -for the best complementing nail shape, file and shape the free edge into a shape that mirrors your nail bed. If your nail bed is square, make the free edge match, same goes for round nail beds. -do not "buff" the tops of your nails, it will cause splitting. Only use a "buffing block" to smooth your free edge if and only if absolutely necessary -no not soak your nails, it will also cause them to split -make use cuticle oil before application and after for best nail health. Also, make sure to rub in the oil completely and allow it to soak into the skin -try to have the least amount of water come in contact with your nails, please wash your hands of course
@reuben81408 жыл бұрын
This really deserves to be top comment but it'll probably end up being a meme 😕
@devilsadvocate27268 жыл бұрын
Cont. -please remember, you are only shaping the free edge (aka the white part of your nail) -please do not gunk up your cuticle with nail polish, it will suffocate your nails and cause them to possibly grow slower -use nail remover ONLY WHEN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, nail remover strips your fingers of all oils, even healthy oils. Natural oils will not inhibit nail polish from staying on your nail nor will it come off quicker. -make sure to also cover the edge of your nail when applying any polish or base coat to your nails, it just looks a bit strange if you don't, it looks like you got lazy and half-assed it If you would like anymore advice and tips beyond what I have stated, please visit simplynailogical's channel. Yes she may be extremely sarcastic, but she really knows her shit.

Ps if your nail polish is streaky you have cheap and shitty polish, buy the good stuff if you want good nails.

+Kristoph Levi Hm, I consulted with a friend who does gel nails professionally when making this video, and these were her specific instructions. I guess it's the sort of thing where there's a lot of different lines of thinking when it comes to nail care. It's nice that we have this space to bounce ideas back and forth though :)
