Agreed, Any yo-yo is capable of playing horizontal, It's just how well you can get it to. Unresponsives are wayyy better for it (IMO).

Spur of the moment decided to get my feet wet with horizontal (minus the usual finger spins). Keeping it in baby steps and simple with the suggested gerbil combo and taking it to a 45 to get used to playing off-axis. Completely skipped the responsive step :)
