I taught my kids the same lessons, I'm happy to see when they are passing it on to their kids as well. Failure only really happens when you quit without trying. I told my Mom I'd graduate college, it took me till I was 57, but I did it.

Very moving, especially after watching the mirror video throwback today. You have indeed moved mountains and while she may not realize it, so has Lucy in here own small ways.

PERSEVERE. Kids need to understand this basic thing; try, try again. Keep at it, you'll unlock a solution. I actually think "fail" is a useless word, because with persistence, the ultimate story is success. And kids are in the perfect position to keep at it, because they don't have a lot of ideas about what a successful outcome is, they have fantastic, un-filtered ideas, receptive, curious minds, and boundless energy. They are already in the mode of "let's try this", all the time, until something new happens. "failed" attempts are good attempts, good efforts, valuable, information-gathering pushes toward an eventual success. The only thing you could really call "failure" is giving up. Kudos on your admirable work, with everything. Inspirational!

Did they at least name the road, and maybe the hospital, after the guy? I mean, he did a shit ton for his village. The least they could do is to honor him especially after they practically mocked him for what he was trying to accomplish
