From what I understand, Fair Isle crochet is when the unused color floats on the wrong side of the work, not when you carry it through with the loops of the previous row. Just in case someone else is trying to look up techniques by name!

Idk if you know this and just don’t prefer it but on stitch fiddle you can have the “written instructions” along with the progress tracker so you don’t have to count it by yourself. I like the color blocks bc it’s visual but they also have it just in words. Anyway loved learning this technique you made it so easy to understand

@@crochetcrys_thanks! Do you have any tips on how to weave it in securely enough that it won’t come out, when there’s only 1 stitch of the same color? I’m worried because I have to somehow securely weave it in with the space of only one stitch. When I have a bunch of stitches that I can weave it into, it’s easier. But it seems like it’s harder to do if I can only put it in 1 stitch.

Thanks for sharing. I literally just learned about tapestry crochet last month. I really wanted to try it, but I didn't understand the graph. You explained it perfectly. I want to make my own penny cardigan. I don't make patterns, so I might mess up the front. Would this graph fit a 2x? I would like to learn how to turn images into graphs. Do you recommend any videos that would help me? Again, thanks so much for sharing. I learned so much.
@crochetcrys_6 ай бұрын
@@queenkayla28 no problem💖 to answer your question, it really depends on the yarn, your hook and your body. For example, I had to make mini side panels because I have a bigger chest so if I made 2 panels the same as the width of the tapestry alone, it would not fit me! It’s just trial and error !

@@Diamond2021 hi love! Look to the left of the screen before saving your chart, there should be height and width options with toggle buttons and numbers. This is how u change the size. If you still can’t see it, I have a video tutorial on my tiktok that shows exactly how to do this! I hope that helps❤️
@Diamond20216 ай бұрын
@@crochetcrys_ I see that but I can’t figure out (at least with certain images) how to make my tapestry small without it not looking like that image I want. For example if I wanted Penny Proud to be 50x50 it maybe not look exactly like her because the images needs to be more than 50x50 rows.
@crochetcrys_6 ай бұрын
@@Diamond2021hey! Sorry for the late reply. To answer your question, unfortunately some pictures just don’t translate well if they’re too small. When that happens I either get a different picture or try really hard to edit the pixels after saving the chart. Alternatively, you could make the picture bigger than 50x50 and use thinner yarn (and a smaller hook) so that it’s still the same size you want it? I haven’t tried this yet but it should work! Also, I didn’t purchase anything to change the colours, you can do it for free after saving the chart❤
