In today’s practice, we explore a breath technique called Lion’s Breath (Simhasana).

There are so many benefits associated with this pranayama (breath) technique. Lion’s breath is said to relieve tension in the face, especially in the jaw. Lion’s Breath can help calm the nervous system down and give us that extra boost that we are looking for!
Lion’s breath may look a little silly and it may feel a bit awkward to do. I invite you to come with an open mind. There’s an invitation to play and stay curious as we explore this breath technique.

Hi Rachel this is a really good technique. Now that we have to wear masks which we all know is difficult, really good to know how to breathe properly as it helps so much. It does keep you relaxed and calm and gets negative thoughts away. Keep the videos come love watching them.

Great video Rachel! Amazed at the different areas we can target for improvement - always excited to find out what you have planned next in improving a new part of our body. I also enjoyed the hand extensions against the thighs as a warm up and a good morning stretch. I can see using this video as a starter to other exercise routines too and will be revisiting it often💖. They are great to do before, during and after computer work! This practice can serve as a warm-up to other yoga classes because it invites us to really connect to our breath and encourages our nervous system to calm down.
