My favorite observation about the toroidal star is that it is exactly the same a Woolsey’s “scales of poi” if you remove every possible extra beat.

If we're picky about it, the pentagram isn't an antispin flower completely, but is a mix between anti and inspin, because of the skip on point (I.e the move from the leg to opposite hand) if instead you would do a regular 5 petal antispin going - > head, hand, leg, other leg, other hand, you would go through your hips only once. So pentagram 5 petal antispin.

Hard disagree on the antispin. It can be modeled with the equation x=sin(t)+cos(-2.5t), y=sin(t)+cos(-2.5t) where t=all values between 0 and 2pi. Just as a triquetra can be modeled x=sin(t)+cos(-2t), y=sin(t)+cos(-2t) or 4-petal antispins can be modeled x=sin(t)+cos(-3t), y=sin(t)+cos(-3t). The math is consistent, the only difference is that you're not multiplying t by a whole number but nowhere has anyone set down a definition that excludes this characteristic from antispin flowers. Normally our antispin flowers are made out of polygons rather than star polygons like a pentagram is (this is partially due to us focusing on patterns with too few points to be rendered as star polygons), but viewed parametrically you can't come up with a definition of an antispin flower that doesn't also include them without throwing in a totally arbitrary rule.
