Another way you can utilize the solar/battery bank is just to run the excess power on night time only related items. IE night time only lighting, additional defenses, etc... Awesome guide!
@hiloboys2 жыл бұрын
Why would you need a switch to turn it off? Just leave it on and connected with both on. When night kicks in the solar auto turns off and it pulls from the battery bank, then when the sun rises again the solar auto turns back on and takes over the power and charges the battery as well. Confused on that part.

In my case my solar only provides 33watts because I have few solar cells, but my batteries are much stronger and can output 150w or so. Since you can only have one power source per circuit, if it is daytime, the power will only come from my solar (30 watts) and ignore my 150w battery bank until night time, which makes a lot of the stuff stop working during the day unless I disconnect the solar.

A tip for your power source complaint, you can connect a generator to a power bank and then the power bank to the other components so when your bank run low you turn on the generator and he Power the conponents and recharge the bank...
@superezbz Жыл бұрын
You don't have to put a switch between solar bank and battery bank to switch between night and day. The loads are automatically switched to the battery bank after 2200 and solar cells at 0400.

My solution to the issue around 9:00, where the solar doesn't fully power your stuff but the batteries do, is to make a 2nd battery bank. The issue is that the batteries will not work if the solar is, and if your solar is lower than your batteries then you won't be working at max capacity. I wanted a passive system that would charge batteries with solar, and run the base off the batteries even during the day. So I made a 2nd battery bank which charged from solar, and then used that battery bank to charge the primary one. I would disconnect the connection between the two banks with a timer relay to only activate (connect) during the night. So solar -> battery bank -> timer relay to turn on from 10pm - 4am (night time) -> 2nd battery bank -> base. This way, the solar charges the batteries during the day, but the base is also powered by your stronger batteries (2nd batt bank) and not cutting off parts of your base due to the weaker solar. Then at night, the battery pack that is now refilled from the solar connects to the other one and charges it, and also runs your base because the solar is not on since it's night time. Sort of a silly system because i wish it would just use solar and battery, but as you said there can only be one power source per circuit. But basically to get a permanent and passive/automatic solar/battery system to charge during the day AND run your base fully to the extent that it can from battery banks, you need to make two banks and cut off power between them with the timer. You end up basically having a battery just to store your solar charge, which is then used to charge your primary batteries.

oh my timed relay with solar bank and battery bank. to give it free energy for the lights in your base and then you can use a more powerful battery bank for bloodmoons with all tier 6 batteries. and then you have 7 days to charge it back up when the night is done. it might be alot of work and items, maybe the generator is better for the bloodmoon as it's only used engines and gas.

i dont think you need a switch between solar banks & battery banks.. i set up solar banks on all my powered drawbridges with battery banks in-between and my batteries never ran out.. they always stayed full... from what i gather from experience of using them is... in the day time solar banks are powering stuff & also recharging the batteries... at night time ur batteries are powering stuff... so as long as ur not using more power at night than can be recharged in the batteries at night u will always stay with fully charged batteries.. i never used a switch and they always stayed full.. but then i didnt have huge power draining things like blade traps
@BlikeNave3 күн бұрын
Since there is only one power source allowed per circuit, if it is daytime and you have more power demand than your solar can handle, some of your things won't work. That's why he turns off the solar connection, because his batteries can output more power than the solar, so a lot of his traps do not work until night time since they are trying to pull from the solar and not his batteries.

Why would you not assume that the cable in 7d2d is the same thing were all cable are in that one cable you connect. So if you think of it that way 7d2d cabling is the same as real world wiring.
