I've always been doing the eye-covering part, but never really thought too much about it... now that you gave me more context it makes so much more sense

Great video my man. I've been around a lot of dog trainers and you definitely know what you're doing. Great job

Thank you for the eye covering tip I'm starting my 9 month puppy on some recreational bite work and she has a problem with only using the front of her mouth and not driving the bite in any I hope this helps that!

So when that dog jolts forward while biting, you reinforce by taking away your hand from over their face? Thx for content man
@davidbrummett413 жыл бұрын
Hey man. Really appreciate your content and your knowledge. I was taught that lift off too but was told it was more of a bite builder than a preferred method to break the bite. Would like to hear your thoughts on that. And I’ve actually been thinking about applying for a job near you. If I do or next time I visit Florida, I’d love to stop by and watch you work if you’d have me! (Or did I read you moved to Canada?)
@grassroots.k93 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes I use the lift off as a possession building tactic as well. We are in Canada now but frequent Florida pretty often! Definitely stay in touch and good luck on the job application!

@@grassroots.k9 ah damn ok. I’m trying to get out of these cold winters. I’m in Northwest North Dakota. I always tell my family from out of state that I basically live in southern Canada. LOL keep putting out that great content! Your work is appreciated!

Any advice for a young dog that redirects upon lift off? I haven’t done fake lift offs before.

How many times a week do you let your puppy bite the puppy sleave..If your your dogs only decoy? Because I've been doing alot.

In bite work dogs are often trained on sleeves. The thing I ask myself is, will such a trained dog attack a real life intruder, considering that intruders tend not to bring along bite work sleeves...

My puppy doesn't like biteing equipment he doesn't like it on his teeth..a towel he locks on ..but my point he has been tested in the streets..and is a savage of a protection dog..crazy guard dog in the house..very animal aggressive..But not a sleave biter?? What's any body's take here ??

@@solomonstello He actually just started biting the sleeve outside. Crazy I brought it out one day and he went bonkers on it..But I still do live work with no sleave and the second he is ready to make his bite I pull him off..because I don't want him looking for a sleave when it's time for action. But he has never let me down and saves my life every day.

I don't think that was negative reinforcement, negative reinforcement removes a punisher and increases the likelihood of whatever behavior it came immediately after.
@grassroots.k93 жыл бұрын
A punisher cannot be a reinforcer you can have "negative punishment" but that is removing access to something desired.
