What bite objects are you using? Is it a burlap sack piece?

This is a piece of leather. Burlap is a good starting point but used too long it teaches the dog to rely too heavily on their teeth rather than bite pressure. Mixing up the biting surface between leather, burlap, French linen (nylacot) jute, polar fleece, fire hose, cotton shirt over bite wedge etc. Get creative. Variety helps avoid material bias.

This was great! I have a 9 week old GSD and she loves to play bite hands. Is it okay to let it be or should I discourage it

No. Do not allow ANY hand biting. Primarily non-reinforce. That is, flatly say "no" and remove your hands. Turn off the fun. When she is not biting hands play with toys with her. Get her focused on the toys and make play fun by letting her win. If she bites your hand while playing, say no. Stop the game. If she figures out biting your hand is an off-switch for the fun she will quit, fast. Puppies will bite you for a couple reasons: 1 dominance games, don't play stop. Frustration, let them win easier, if they are over-tired, stop playing give them a quiet rest. Very few puppies need correction to stop biting but some will.

im going to be picking up a new gsd in the next couple weeks and will be doing bite work with it. when the puppy starts losing its puppy teeth do you stop doing bite work? and if so generally what time frame are you looking at? thanks!

Yes stop bite/tug play during teething. Usually in the 4 to six month range. Watch for all the gaps to be full with his new teeth and start back up.
