I was hurting my shoulder and I thought it from tennis. Nope. It’s comparing with my 16 year old grandson. I’m 80. I’ll go back to square one as you advise. I just wanted to encourage him to keep up his physical activity. By the way he is doing his push-ups wrong and he’ll feel it when he gets older!

This is the best explanation of how to do push ups. It explains the angle the elbows should be, how your shoulders should be and other stuff that is left out in other videos. Thanks so much!

Great explanation! The elbow position 45 deg and regressions are very helpful. Thank you. … one thing i’m still curious about is proper wrist position.

Thanks for the info. I’m in good shape, been working out for about 2 years. But, from time to time I keep getting an injury in my right shoulder. Wasn’t sure what caused it, but I think it’s push ups. Could be overhead press too, but I’m thinking push ups. I use a doorway pull up bar that can be put on the floor to do push ups. I’m going to use your advice, and also slow my movements down. I go crazy on my first set always trying to do more than last time. But, slower more controlled movements may help to avoid injury. That and keeping the elbows in, like you said.

Did it help?
@ChicagoJ351 Жыл бұрын
@@RaianBlockbuster yep. My shoulder is mostly healed now. It was push ups that caused the problem. I do them differently now. Slower movements, no bouncing, elbows in, hands not too high. And I’m using push up handles instead of a push up bar.

Can to tell us what you did wrong to cause that injury? I'm doing more tricep focused push-ups right now.
@retrozzfuzionzz8677 Жыл бұрын
@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 i did WAY too many pushups more than my body can handle. If i can give you any advice it would be proggresivly overload your body and stretch before any workouts I had a bad habit of working out cold and thats a one way ticket to injurys
