Ok but in the first example you're making the strokes too long, if the movement you do with your hand is shorter that technique would work as well. Not to mention you didn't second passed over the first one as you did on the second one so.. that's why you got much more saturation

it majorly depends on your machine particularly. Normally lining between 7.5-8.5 v, shading 7-8v
