$3 toggle switch from Walmart battery section. Green wire from radio (parking brake wire) to one side, ran another wire from other side to a switched fuse under steering wheel. That easy. Turn the switch on and off when wanting to watch a dvd while driving. Takes about 1.2 seconds to complete the sequence of on-off-on. Mounted the switch directly in between my front a/c vents so its super accessible.

It’s kind of funny .... five star audio uTube videos are normally first rate. However, this one actually doesn’t show a good close up of the Pioneer harness wiring connections to the bypass. The installer, is way zoomed out when he is doing the actual connections stating “you just connect this wire to this one etc.”. You can’t actually see how it is hooked up. Just some constructive feedback....

I don’t see how, all I got was “hook these two, and hook these two” and then a microsecond of a visual of a bunch of wires narrated by “you’ll wanna strip em first, this is just to show you...” constructive criticism, if you’re making a tutorial it’s most effective to verbally as well as visually describe what you’re doing. “I connect the xxx wire to the yyy wire, then connect the aaa wire to the bbb wire, like this and then pause long enough for a person to see what you did. @FiveStarCarStereoInc8 жыл бұрын
Yes it will.
@paulweston81845 жыл бұрын
@notchjohnson1Yes, he did and that was not the purpose that they were describing it's use for in the video. They were showing it's purpose as to unlock screen features that you can not use while driving. They didn't mention anything about eliminating the need to park and apply the ebrake in order to use the DVD player. So if you are saying that he is spot on at his assumption, you have a correct statement.

Ok guys question installed pioneer AVH-7800 and all new door speakers front and rear. Just noticed tonight the rear door speakers and factory subwoofer which I installed new subwoofer as well r working but not the front door speakers. I used the easy factory wire harness setup plugged all wires right and made sure I connected speaker wires + & - so should be no issues on anything being crossed. So I seen something on a page about unplugging back speakers and it all works and others things I seen but not sure where to turn from this point I didn't know this was going on til someone pointed it out to me cause truthful rear speakers r loud but I want all speakers to work right.

Hi Guys ..Thanks for doing this informative video on installing a bypass. My problem is that I'm installing the video player in an RV trailer so I don't have a blue wire coming from my vehicle harness as it's not a vehicle. I just have the red and black wires. So I splice in the black wire from bypass onto the black wire with a tap connector and put the green wire onto the light green wire on the deck harness and the blue onto the deck blue wire which only goes to the deck and nowhere else. The bypass is not working. I'm I doing something wrong?

Stryker 2 The blue wire is just a remote turn on, you just need a switched ignition wire to remotely send the 12v through the circuit.

whats up five star team, quick question about this video. I ordered and received this bypass from your link and i would like to confirm....... the blue wire from the bypass connects to the blue amp turn on wire from the radio. Here is my question.... i have an 02 4runner with a power ant., the instructions for the bypass says to connect the solid blue wire from the factory radio harness to the red power wire from the radio harness and factory harness. So the radio amp turn on blue wire and the blue wire from the bypass are the only two connected together, is this correct? if so, then the power ant will go up every time the radio is turned on right? Thanks in advance, hoping for a quick reply.

Paige's American Girl Doll Channel sounds right but here is what I would do. Get an on off switch, connect on side to red, the other side to the cars power antenna wire. This way you can manually make the antenna go up and down when the key is on. Next connect the radios Blue white to the microbypass.
@Maddevildog2477 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice. Is there any issue if i just leave the ant power wire wired to the red power? When the car is off, will the ant go down? Not sure if i want to have a switch installed in the car anywhere. I bought this unit more for the CD player than the ability for DVD's. If I don't use the bypass at all and leave the green wire disconnected to the parking brake is the DVD function the only thing i will loose or will other features not work as well? Thanks again bro.

Paige's American Girl Doll Channel yes you can just connect to red and it will go up and down with the key. Yeah you will lose menu settings, I would just connect it to the E break wire for when you need it.

@jensen39447 жыл бұрын
So, just to confirm you are saying the connection from the factory + new aftermarket car harness is already sufficient chassis ground (no need to wire to radio bolt/screw etc.?) Thank you for your response.
@FiveStarCarStereoInc7 жыл бұрын
Jensen some Nissan and Toyota do not have grounds otherwise you are good

Now that I'm looking at my wires it's actually looking like there is no black ground wire on the aftermarket car harness I bought. Now not sure where to go from here. Should I just ground the aftermarket radio's ground wire to a bolt? Then not sure where to connect the ground from bypass since on the bypass instructions it says to connect black ground wire to black ground on radio and black ground of car harness. Since the car harness doesn't seem to have one can I connect it to a splice in the same black radio ground that I'm bolting?
@FiveStarCarStereoInc7 жыл бұрын
Jensen ok, yes that car needs a ground. Go to a bolt, connect that to the bypass and the radio. All will be good.

What if I dont have an amp or anything hooked up to the remote wire? Will it work if I just plug the bypass wire into the remote wire on the head unit if the remote wire isnt hooked to anything else?

I installed a micro bypass about 12 months ago for my pioneer AVH-Z55250BT, but I have an issue where it doesn’t always work properly. Most times I turn the car on the greyed out settings flash on and off and it’s 50/50 whether they’ll be available when moving or not. Any ideas?

Going to buy a x4800bs, Pac RP5-gm31 Bypass kit for my 09 Silverado. Do This Bypass unit have the micro bypass built in or do I still need to install Micro Bypass to get full access while driving.
@FiveStarCarStereoInc8 жыл бұрын
Yes you still need the microbypass to unlock the radio

I didn’t plug mine in and it works perfectly...

Hey Guys, great video! I bought this from you Saturday, and installed it. Works great, but now my brake light is on all the time. Did I do something Wrong?

What if I need my remote wire for my amp ? Should I split it with the green wire and my amp ? Hope it has enough voltage to do both wires
@FiveStarCarStereoInc6 жыл бұрын
It can do both the bypass and the amp no problem

I think I read I need a more recent micro bypass for my 4100nex because of android auto. Is this true? can you please send the link where I can find one. thanks a bunch you guys are awesome!
@FiveStarCarStereoInc8 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct, if you contact your seller they should be able to get you the new one.

Do you need a switch with it or is it just the bypass

I have an AVH-x4800bs and i was having the same issue of not being able to use certain functions on my radio. i did some research and i found that grounding the parking brake wire to the radio itself did the same thing as using a bypass. i tried it on mine and it works perfectly now so why waste the money on a bypass when you can do this simple trick to get the same result
@danielhinojosa17488 жыл бұрын
Scott Helphenstine So by grounding the parking brake on the stereo you can watch videos and drive?
@aggressivesambofordemonrat13818 жыл бұрын
daniel hinojosa Either he has a cheap DVD in dash or he's full of crap.
@gamertone69538 жыл бұрын
Scott Helphenstine yeah it'll unlock the screen but you still can't watch video while driving
@aggressivesambofordemonrat13818 жыл бұрын
Gamer Tone Exactly these pioneers have to see a parking brake or ground signal engage and disengage.

Gonna have to argue on that. I thought the same thing, that I'd have to buy this shitty Microbypass but after contacting Pioneer retailer they told me just to ground the light green parking brake wire behind the stereo. Did it and i can play videos on the move now. And I have a 3 month old model... MVH-AV290BT.

Hello I just pick this up I wired up to my pioneer avh241 ex it won’t work Do I have to ground it to a different ground instead of the factory wiring ? Thank you
@grabbity5 жыл бұрын
So my brand new one won't play DVDs whether I'm parked or not, even with the brake on and the car not running. Will this help with that as well? Or is it just for disabling it while not parked?
@mayancruizer6 жыл бұрын
Can you still use the remote wire at the sametime for the remote wire for the amp.
@RJVermillion8 жыл бұрын
Ok so I hooked up my 5800 and I love it specially the micro bypass piece but I'm gonna add a backup camera so how is it going to notice or switch from DVD to rear cam???
@FiveStarCarStereoInc8 жыл бұрын
RJVermillion there is a purple white wire in the power plug of the radio. It needs to be connected to the reverse light trigger wire. Then you go into the camera settings and turn camera on. When this is done your radio will know it is in reverse and turn on the camera
@mycustompaintedlife5024 жыл бұрын
My pioneer is wired like this with the purple/white to reverse trigger and I have the bypass wired correctly, as well, yet it doesn’t work! I continue to comment on these issues, hoping to get a response at some point. I have spent so much money trying to get anything to work with the AVH-1400 NEX besides just Apple car play and Bluetooth for music and calling/texting
