Hi there, bit of a technical question. So I noticed that my USB port is already taken up with the usb for CarPlay. So can I use a 2 to 1 splitter without power loss to power the adapter for the rvc to hdmi because i don’t have an hdmi port. Or I also found rvc to hdmi that don’t require a usb power connection. So in the case could I use the lighting and hdmi adapter and the lighting connector to power it from the lighting cable, If that makes sense or does it even require power?. Just trying to figure out which is best for my situation where the USB port is already taken up. Thanks!

@@AiBilly If the Unit has USB in the Back: you can connect just the Cable directly to the USB (in the Rear) and change the Menu Settings on the Headunit. This will allow the Screen to be still Touch Use-able. The whole idea of NO-Hands Driving is to keep your phone away from you. Screen Mirroring, is not same as MirrorLink or Car Play. ( If you need assistance of your Hand-held device ) you will end up pulled over trying to explain to the officer (you were just changing your Radio Station) ..

This video was super helpful and I was able to get this to work. However, my BOSS head unit doesn't even have a USB port, much less HDMI. I set this up such that the USB plugged/tapped into the cigarette lighter power. It was working fine for a while but now the fuse seems to blow. Any thoughts here? Yes you need to bypass parking brake! Shit should have mentioned that. All head units have a resolution of 800x400, so in terms of pixels they're all the same. Some have better color, sharpness, brightness etc. Depends on your budget?

poor little fella, you don't have a clue about what you are talking about do you? I use mirrorlink on my avh-x3700bhs with an lg v20 and all i need is a usb c cable. simply plug it into the phone and into the back of the radio and viola, mirrorlink. of course you've got to enable the correct settings but that's simple also. i believe what you are doing is something called miracast or something similar. it sure isn't mirrorlink.

Apple Carplay only works with Apple Carplay compatible stereos. It's not an app you can add to any radio with a download or update. Mirroring will only mirror your phone and has nothing to do with Carplay.

No HDMI :( They took it away on the 9904. Not sure what their thinking was on that decision. There is only and AV input that looks like a 3.5mm jack. I can't look at the back of the deck because it's already installed so I'm going by the manual. They definitely don't show an HDMI. Plus the installer said there wasn't one.

I have an NEX 2440. My question is after hooking the setup up in this fashion with the Bueler Bu adapter would I still be able to toggle thru the sources and use Android Auto as I would with the USB. Does it allow that to continue

So yes you can change sources because you'll just be in the AV soruce, but you'd have to unplug it anyways to connect to the USB for Android Auto to even work

How will I be able to make both work if the Bueler uses the only USB port on my Pioneer AVH-2440NEX I called earlier and one of your reps said that I'd be able to do everything via the Bueler adapter. I have a pioneer 7800 flip out. Will the hdmi to rca cable transmit a full screen signal to the head unit? (Full screen as in no black picture frame around the image) Also for the lighting to hdmi unit function properly without power? If so would a USB extension be safe to add on the the unit. (USB extension uses single USB port and turns it into 2 or more). Thanks!

I never experienced a cropped frame like that doing it! If you're doing the Lightning to HDMI the USB power isn't necessary so long as your phone is powered! That connection just keeps your phone powered so it doesn't get drained, whereas the Beuler needs it to power the adapter

Ok, with the aux cable hookup. Sense it is powering the cable using the USB port, can I still watch movies on my thumb drive when this is not being used?

Well the connections would be different, you can have both connected at the same time, you would just have to change the source from AV of the mirror to the Backup Camera Input
