How to do the GBA Bowsers Castle Shortcuts! - Mario Kart Wii

A tutorial on bc3, before you comment I'm aware that I intentionally left out a few methods like the alternative method for ultra, and the wheelie shroomless method with the single alignment, as I didn't see it necessary to include.

Very insightful video! Really really neat to see you also cover more unfamiliar topics within BC3 like spindrift method and wall hop. Many of these things go unnoticed to most players. Really glad you also covered the idea of consistency and then speed. Being able to perform the shroom cut fast really is a game changer. The longer it takes to align, the less time the shortcut saves. I agree with you that the ultra shroom no stop isn't as hard as the general playerbase makes it out to be. I think it's a matter of risk vs reward. generally speaking there aren't as many players contesting the ultra shroomless shortcut so they just feel it's safer and a lot more consistent to go for that in online races. Keep it up Arc! Great to see more dedicated content creators for this game.

For the funky shroomless ultra, its much more practical to aim the back of ur bike slightly right because the tilt you input on the right is much less and the wall hitbox affects u less. Good vid tho!

Season. You never said Bowser Bike. What I took issue with the was you saying “Funky” shroomless ultra, when what you actually mean is Flame Runner shroomless. Also, your use of ultra for this shortcut comes in conflict with the more established “skipping key checkpoints” definition of ultra. Calling it by a different name would solve the ambiguity issue.

This particular "ultra" shortcut is from an era where definitions weren't clear. Even though it's not technically an ultra because, yes, an ultra needs to skip key checkpoints and this one doesn't, the community still calls it a ultra cut. (btw I didn't come up with these terms so...)

It’s kinda like how the DDR ultra shroom strategy isn’t an ultra. These were discovered in 2008/2009 before actual ultra shortcuts had been discovered so people coined them ultra even though they aren’t by modern standards.
