4:51 wow that's a great idea to understand the movement :D i'm learning this on ice
@uglypinkeraser5 жыл бұрын
For me the best way to understand it was to concentrate on keeping my shoulders pointed parallel with my direction of movement. So that both the forward skating and backward skating parts of the grapevine were actually more like sideways skating. That way it keeps all the complicated transition moves more in line with my spine, I think it looks a bit better too if the skater can keep the upper body more still

I love how Dima is so patient with you and only wants you to succeed! I wish you both luck, I hope Dima can get it on his weak side and you can overcome that final pivot! Best wishes :)

Awesome Video/Tutorial lessons.... I am fixated on that pattern now. lol! This video makes me wanna give it a shot. I watched the whole thing. Freestyle is not the best skating I do but sometimes I feel in the mood to goof around. Nice video! ;)

Try and cross your dominant leg over the your less dominant leg, uncross the leg and flow into an almost sideways transition into backwards then glide almost a 45* angle lead by your dominant leg towards the direction of your less dominant leg eg. For me it would be left, because my right leg is my dominant. now for the tricky part, the backwards to forwards momentum and weight transition. You want to pull back your less dominant leg mainly putting pressure on the toes and half way through that, push your dominant leg towards the direction you are going, use arms and upper body to help you, but once your forwards you can repeat the process again and make a nice flowing pattern. Hope this helped anyone

That's a smooth transition

It looks so easy but I know it can be soo difficult. I still have problem with the transfer from backward to forth. I'm loosing too much momentum there.

Seems like this would be so much easier with rockered frames. But Dima is good!

I have a request I'm learning by myself and I am too scared to fall and been practicing for only a week and still feel like I can't let go of a rail or someone next to me to hold my hand any pointers? Mom said to take a broom stick with me ha ha ha!
@nlight87696 жыл бұрын
practice falling, then practice lemons, then practice falling while lemoning. But yeah, basically practice falling from different angles, practice being a cat who never falls on its back. That's it. You can try to use a shop cart too, but as someone said : "don't get married to that, that's no good form"

Nice trick and good job with all your videos, JP. I really like what you`re doing. Watching the video I noticed a familiar sound from your skates. I also have a pair of Twister 80 (2016 model) which I bought a month ago. My Twister`s make similar or pretty much the same sound/noise and I figured out, after much trial and error, that the source is the wheels and not the bearings. Only two of the wheels generate this noise, no matter what bearings I place in them. After some research I found that the cause is / could be the decoupling of the hub from the wheel, but I`m not 100% sure. You can imagine my disappointment, because I was fooled thinking that these are good skates, which apparently are not and for this problems to pop up after a month of light use (aprox. 1h/day, without anything aggressive) I find it unacceptable. P.S.: The first issue was the bearings (they mixed SG5, SG7 and ABEC5) but I don`t want to complain too much, although it was a rather “funny” experience. What do you think, the warranty covers this issue? Thanks and I really appreciate your work!

i´ve been having the same problem with some Flying Eagle wheels i bought for my Seba FR2s...3 wheels make that noise now :/
@basilvirgo6 жыл бұрын
Have you fixed the problem or not? I guess you don`t really like the sound they make!

I don´t like it...but i don´t think it can be fixed...sadly
@basilvirgo6 жыл бұрын
You`re right, this is really sad. That`s what you call "quality products". If only the FR2`s were a good fit, I wouldn`t have all this headaches.
