The people in Harlem know what the Harlem shake is and the originators of the dance put it on the forefront . The dance is not the cancer as you described , but the meme was . It was another example of cultural appropiation and misrepresentation by outsiders who know ANYTHING about the dance ,who only sought to exploit a bastadization of it . The Harlem Shake is as Hip-Hop as NY itself ( the birthplace of the culture as a whole) .Not everyone has to like the dance ,but diminshing it wll be a problem in Harlem and for the Hip-Hop dance community . And as for thsi video , one would be better served to learn the dance from The Original Harlem Shakers and those connected to them . Nuff said .
