This is the only video that actually shows how Kurt sang. Every other video is some "professional" showing you how to do it without damaging voice, but it just ends up sounding wrong in those videos. Kurts unhealthy technique is what makes it standout.

Absolutely, I always hate these youtuber trying so hard to overanalyze anything Kurt did. when in reality there was never dark deep secret technique behind all that. Kurt just went ALL OUT and luckily enough he has naturally fairly nice voice to begin with.

To sound right you have to control the tone and compression of your voice correctly, the professionals teach how to reach the spot so you can go around and figure the tone by yourself. If you hear Kurt's voice and can't figure out alone what are the points that make it sound like that then you should be focusing in other parts of voice training instead of going straight to drive techniques. Y'all will just end up with no voice by 40's.

Hi I’m not sure if you’ll see this but I can do Kurt pretty well, one thing is you need to practice singing in your falsetto, that is a big part, another is that you are doing it wrong if you’re adding a gravelly sound to your voice, Kurt himself sung with vocal fry to achieve the raspy sound and so do I so I would recommend trying that, I think it is more of a thing you’re born with but I may be wrong

on my opinion, like someone who loves "nirvana", and also how a person who learned also sing, (just for hobby, and not like trying to sound like someone pretentious) technically and kurt use a raspy voice with like a "little pain" in his own voice, not anyone can haves "that raspy voice" but WAIT, saying this sounds to "OBVIOUS" BUT i can explain, its not the best form to sing obviously, the screams are more with a "nasal tone" and with that "vocal fry" more exaggerated and emotionaly, but and the question here is, "WHY sounds so agressive and painful?" and the answer is: Thats is because kurt in that times , Kurt he had so many stomach problems, that technically, he sing with rage and from the pain of the stomach and also for the constant problems with drugs and other things is own life, making his interpretation more painful and aggresive for the problems he haved, making this perfomance in shorts words to say it "UNIQUE", but the difference like for example, alx rose, he use the same technique but with a so exagerated falseto and making that "raspy voice" also, Kurts use his own voice and also sometimes falseto, but for not make discussions with differences of singers, i just want to say, don't force it own voice (to anyone are reading this) if you dont know how to sing, the technique of kurt are unhealty, and in my exp learning sing, for me i can sing like kurt, but i learn it with a lot of pain and self-taught , but in my experiencie as I said before, and just in this case not anyone can "SING" like kurt I need a lot of time to hit also those high notes with that raspy voice, but i know someday i can make it, because I can make those screams but not to much "highers" Greetings :3
