If you submit to the suicide theory, that's fine. I did too. But I challenge you to do this. Watch Soaked in Bleach on Netflix start to finish. Then reply to this thread and let us know if you think the suicide theory still holds up and why. We all have a limited view of the world around us and that's what shapes each of our own unique perspectives. It's pretty difficult to see with your eyes shut, I think that much we can all agree on. Well truth isn't seen thru the eyes. The "truth", is an evolving ideal that takes shape within the mind. Open up your mind and you just might see how distorted your view of the world really is. And it turns out that.... it FUCKED US UPPP!!!! It really did though. I'm going to do my damnedest to ensure that first off, I truly choose a good one. Second I will do everything in my power to make it work, unless it's negatively affecting the kids. I don't know the truth of the matter, just the speculation of the pre-internet generation flotsam-which makes me a lazy Gen-Xer, I guess, for not Googling this and making a citation. I remember someone, who I thought was important at the time, saying that the Cobains were a working class family and his Dad was part of the logging industry of the Northwest. When the industry tanked, so did his father get tanked, at home. Mom and Dad started bickering too much and they split. And then this is where the myth of Cobain started cropping up; Manic punkrocker, person who raged against bu11sh1t he saw everywhere, part looney-toons cartoon character who watched his tour van blow up with his bandmates, rags-to-(credit)riches at an early age, responsibilities of numerous people relying on his talent to "entertain us" for their paychecks/livelihoods, (most likely) borderline wife, constant pain, eventual drug adiction, not providing his kid the home life that Cobain so desperately wished that he had, and then the end. Too many pressures on a working-class kid from the Pacific Northwest. We forgive your death Kurt; We constructed you and so, like the death of someone who was murdered on the Ides of March, we all had a hand in your demise.

Father Badger I thought his dad was a mechanic or something with cars. I read that part from Heavier Than Heaven, it’s also in Montage of Heck. The saddest part in that movie is towards the end, when it’s Bean’s first haircut. He’s holding her and nodding out, while Courtney is cutting her hair, and Eric is filming it. We all know he had a drug problem, it was really unnecessary to put in the movie.

He didn't have the maniac ego or macho attitude that a lot of other rock and roll stars had. I mean, how many other big musicians were speaking out against sexism, racism and homophobia? Most wouldn't risk upsetting their fans or losing money. And it wasn't just that Kurt spoke out against those things, you can tell that it really bothered him. I know people are fascinated by Kurt's tragic end and his battle with depression and drug addiction...But what's amazing to me is that, despite all the pain he felt, despite all of his personal demons, he was still a truly empathic and thoughtful person.

Though I don't see the issue with some musician prioritizing solely on the music and having fun with their fans who go to their shows to escape the bullshit paradigm of reality that hasn't and will never change. Kurt Cobain was a "Feminist" in the way every normal person is a Feminist-- a classical Feminist who wants equality for women. It doesn't mean he'd be a 2019 militant Feminazi who demands equity over equality (equality is everyone getting the same opportunity to prove themselves; equity is getting the same result regardless of capability). This is where modern day Feminism has gone off the rails. Kurt could never endorse this ideology because it's a form of unfairness also, albeit dressed up in a new disguise. I promise you this much, if Kurt were still with us today he would not identify with the modern day era of '4th wave Feminism'. It's because above all else, Kurt Cobain was an anti-establishment rebel by nature. He was a rebel waaaay more than he ever was a politically minded individual. Kurt would distance himself from the modern day Feminist ideology because he'd notice that the Left are the ones who have become the powerful establishment figures currently suffocating artistic expression. It's the Left who have assumed cultural power at this point, and have morphed into the same joyless, school-marming, tyrannical Puritans conservatives were during the 1940s-70s. It's the Left who's smothering comedy, art, and music these days. It's the Left who's preventing honest discourse. Don't think for one minute Kurt wouldn't see these things also, and that he wouldn't utterly detest the effect it's having on society-- the same way his fellow punk rock icons Johnny Rotten & Johnny Ramone have. The Bottom Line: Kurt Cobain would be railing against today's political climate as fiercely as he railed against 80s glam metal because opposing the rigid, uptight Left is the new counterculture. It's the new "good fight" for sincere rebels everywhere to take up in order to reclaim freedom of expression.

Every guy I ever rejected was a macho dickhead and I relished in their bitterness when I chose a sweet compassionate guy who has similar beliefs to Kurt (who I am still with years later). I never regretted rejecting any of those assholes for a second and they are still all acting like the stereotypical egotistical high school jock in their early 20's, still all single, it's sad, they all peaked at around 17 and even then they were pathetic. But they obviously value acting like immature assholes over having human relationships so all of them, and you, can continue to rot alone.

He was so sensitive and so intelligent. He had a very fragile, tender mind in the sense that he had preserved the child in him. And with the divorce it only locked it in him. Thats why he was confused in school and only talked with the girls, becausw he connected with them because he had this sensitive outlook on things. Thats why he thought he was gay, because everyone called him that. I have a classmate who hangs out only with the girls and to be honest he kinda looks like Curt. Guess what they call him gay as well. With music he expressed himself, his voice crying beautifully. He then realised he soon had a gf and even a baby.... So much to handle already in thought that he still feels like a kid. And that no one acted with him in an acording way to his amazing character. Drugs and depression only added up to shit, and the pressure for things as well. He was tired and its okay. After everything its his life. No one is going to live it for him. If he felt like he couldnt do it and it would be best to preserve what he already had in hope someday someone will appreciate it, then he did the thing that is best for him.

It’s incredible that he was discussing this in 1992 when it’s still a controversial topic 30 years later

Man I just realized cobain & 2 PAC have a lot in common the bout where the voices of there generation they bout elevated a new element in there genre they bout spoke from there heart and they bout left to soon smh rip Kurt cobain & 2pac
@jordandenny68755 жыл бұрын
Actually Tupac is alive and well in Cuba and Cobain just changed his identity to a guy named "Rivers Cuomo," and no longer has any health problems except being a little Weezy. Just kidding (but a little serious about pac) rest in peace to both of them, and you are absolutely right. Hip hop and Grunge are my two favorite genres and I never thought about that. Two great, progressive minds in their own right. Things like their deaths really make me question our chances as a species.

Having to explain depression to someone is nesrly impossible. Dealing with it daily is even bigger. But learning to fake seems to help everyone around me. Even if I'm sad inside I find the perfect smile snd paste all day til I'm alone. Then I get to b me. At nite when I lay my head on my pillow that's the moment that hits hardest.. that's y stay up late. Wait for the wife to fall asleep 1st.. depression sucks. Bad.
@Quiet_One11 жыл бұрын
To: paulguitar1994 Don't hide your feelings and bottle it all up. If you do it turns into severe anger, and with depression you know how that will END. Please, share your feelings because it's so much worse to hold it back. It doesn't matter how your family reacts; you HAVE to do what is best for YOU, and then you can deal with your family problems a lot better.

He was such a genuine and wholesome person. I wish he had felt the joy that he brought so many people. I don't want to mourn him for our sake. I don't want to say I wish he had continued to live a long life of depression. I want to say that I wish he had been able to get the help he deserved and to live into this time and make many friends, see the progress we've made, with gay marriage and women's rights, and I wish he could enjoy it all

The world has gone totally nuts now tho, don't you think? Sometimes I feel that some people got outta here while the going was good as if they knew where it was all degenerating into insanity. My parents and brother have died and I know they wouldn't have handled what we are living in now.
@vaszgul7363 жыл бұрын
@@tracik1277 I feel that sometimes, when I think about people who died before 2020, I have a strange sense that they got to leave without knowing what was coming or having to live through it. It's not the right response, and maybe I only feel that because so little good has happened in the last year or so, so maybe that feeling will fade when things get better again. I get the same feeling knowing people passed away before 9/11 so they didn't have to see or be effected by all of the chaos that surrounded it. In a weird way, sometimes, one can envy the dead.
@tracik12773 жыл бұрын
@@vaszgul736 Yeah, my parents died before 9/11. That would have freaked them out too much. They lived through WW2 (I am old! - and bored lol and they were old when they had me, my sister is old enough to be my mum, so yeah...) and in a way I feel like that was worse than the war because it was so shocking and during so-called peace time. But then, my son is 26 and he is very down to earth, he takes so much in his stride and just keeps on his path. Nirvana was his womb music lol.

Nirvana was one of the earliest bands I was really into, although I was like 11 and didn't understand much about Kurt or the messages of their music. Listening to this now is spooky because I realize my best friend from high school was basically Kurt. Misunderstood, sexually repressed, rejected masculinity and gendered culture, angry, troubled home life, etc. And he eventually killed himself, too.
@anastasiamurawski6179 Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your friend. It's very brave of you to share that with us. I lost my brother 3 yrs ago to suicide, he was great, but he was very ill, bipolar and the drug addiction, plus Kurt had fame thrust upon him and really early in their career. It probably spooked him, being from a small town like Aberdeen and all. He was a sensitive guy , a bit paranoid I think also.

I don't think we'll ever see a rock star as authentically kind as Kurt. Although he had his downfalls (drug addiction being the major one), the way he talks about equality is still amazing to this day. People could say his flaws outweigh the good things people see in him but realistically that just shows he's like everyone; he was unapologetically human. Nowadays we're unlikely to see another celebrity seem so authentic due to how much social media is used. Currently, everyone has to act a certain way to avoid public outrage and "being cancelled". It's kinda sad really; stops the public from seperating the real from the fake.
